I wish Obama would have challenged not being able to appoint a Supreme Court Justice and that RBG would have resigned to assure a balance on the Court. It isn't enough to have this High Court. This Court, since they've become so politicized and apparently corrupt, needs not only stronger eithics rules with oversight to assure they are following them. But should be set up to equally represent both sides of the political spectrum and independents. We have been seeing decisions made directly by political affiliation and rights being stripped to satisfy a radical so called Christian values agenda. Separation of Church and State, Freedom of Religion which is also freedom from a religion being imposed on citizens of the United States, doesn't seem relevant to the partisan's on this court. You are saying exactly what is happening. It has become Authoritarian.
