@thesaltybeard1793 If you accidentally make eye contact, say hi!

@Gatitasecsii Do you shop for those groceries in private stores? How is going on a bus different from going to the park where there are other people? Depressingly enough (as it implies a fear of society), ÖBB has some new night trains that basically have a sliding cover around each bunk. Unfortunately as far as I could tell from the publicity those bunks do not fold up as has long been standard on night trains and the lack of proper seated accommodations is probably rather uncomfortable. I travel fairly frequently on public transit, if you happen to hit it off with the people around you you'll have good company the whole way, if not you can usually just ignore one another.

@Gatitasecsii The trouble is that public transit flourishes when it is faster than the alternatives. Bike paths and pedestrian zones are fantastic but if your cybertruck is blocking the tram then it is an issue. Regarding your last sentence, funny you should say that. I was recently on a train delayed by close to two hours after someone decided the road wasn't really closed while the train was coming through. Anyway, thanks for the nice response and have a good evening. Or whatever time it is wherever you are.

@valdir7426 And honestly, a lot of those can be done on cargo bike depending on local geography etc.

@SuperMopga No it's not. DB's trains are pretty expensive and so consistently late the Swiss railways have stopped waiting for them in cases of delay. Not saying I don't take them when I'm in Germany, but the experience is often worse overall than the FS in Italy (where I live) for instance. That said, public transit within cities in Germany in my experience tends to be better.

@anshevel To some extent it's still a matter of choice depending on the region. Sadly governments are heavily promoting electric cars and such though so it's only a matter of time.
