The fact that Germany has so much pride in their automobile industry really gets me. There's fantastic engineering in some of these companies, I wish it were employed to a more society-friendly end.

@vulcwen Dev here too. I would love to work on something where safety is actually considered important such as flight control computers because it would be interesting to see the documentation and testing processes. Where I work we had a code quality check stage in all our pipelines intentionally disabled because an update (which no one was informed of) had introduced new warnings causing builds to fail and the guy responsible decided it would be faster than temporarily disabling the new warnings. I only found out months later when we were having trouble related to this. I tried to bring it up as an issue in a weekly retrospective but was shut down in a way that clearly indicated the guy hadn't told anyone about disabling the stage and he had no intention of doing so.

@20chocsaday I don't know about that event but I would be very much against selling it as beef too. It would be like selling chicken as pork, or adulterated olive oil.

@20chocsaday It all depends on preparation. Horse is much sweeter in flavour than beef, so naturally it has a slightly different culinary niche.

@janisir4529 No, even without subsidies big boxes would crush them via loss leaders and targeted sales, as well ask bulk discounts from suppliers (which were also mentioned in the video)
