  2. I'm a software developer and it's maddening to me the extent to which some of my colleagues trust chat GPT. They'll use it as a source of documentation, as a code generator, to look through logs...I genuinely don't get why since there are more reliable ways to do all these operations. They'll sometimes even use chat gpt to generate code and then just copy-paste that into the program without taking the time to understand what it does. The other day too I had to sit through half an hour of watching a colleague use chat GPT to summarize data that really could have been done faster with a regex and a calculator or spreadsheet program.
