@JoshSweetvale Calorie used in dietary contexts is usually actually kcal scientifically speaking. A calorie as normally used in science is the amount of energy needed to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree celsius; due to the fairly obvious shortcomings of this definition, it's mostly been replaced with the proper SI unit joule. In some places it's standard to have the energy content of food measured in kJ instead of or as well as in kcal on the nutrition facts label. Energy is always energy, doesn't matter what you do with it.
