Always does, just takes a while. Proprietary is for immediate results, open source is for something you can rely on long-term.

@ExecutionMods I can't wait for the day LLMs result in linux kernel source or maybe some GPL'd utility getting worked into proprietary software and being found out.

@divirusp well the difference is if it's abandoned you still have access to the source so if it's important enough to you you can make it work. With proprietary stuff that is usually not the case. Just ask anyone whose lifetime adobe license has expired while they were still very much alive.
