I'm not sure it is hard to find, but the problem is that there are many different moralities.

@CitizenTechTalk It's not really taught in schools, although some places do have civics and ethics classes in school. As for home, I would say most parents do teach their children their own morality, some better than others, but again - the values parents teach their children with can be quite different from family to family.

@CitizenTechTalk I think it helps to accept the fact that human societies are messy and will never be perfect. I recently read an article about the meaning of an idea in one of Voltaire's books - that "one must cultivate one's own garden". https://www.theschooloflife.com/thebookoflife/cultivate-own-garden-voltaire/ "We should never tie our personal moods to the condition of a whole nation or people in general; or we would need to weep continuously." It doesn't mean we shouldn't get involved in improving our countries' well-being (Voltaire himself having been an outspoken advocate of civil liberties and a critic of the Catholic French monarchy) but that we should also try as much as possible to focus on our small projects that we can realistically tackle as they can give us a lot more satisfaction and keep us mentally healthy (e.g. tending to a garden, handling a small business etc.). A friend of mine commented on this, saying that voting is largely a social ritual; if you really want to make some positive change, start with your family, friends, neighbourhood - there is a lot you can do there, and it's rewarding. Try to change national policies and it's just a drag, with often little measurable outcomes.
