@MrGrumpyGills Yes, 2015, not 2008.

@DJJahT Everybody knows that Marty was innocent. Troll elsewhere.
23
@DJJahT Everybody knows that Marty is innocent. Are you his ex-girlfriend or something?
16
He died eight years ago
14
@chelseababe Ding! They were good friends for years, but Detective McCready lied about it on the stand and claimed they didn't really know each other. Too late now - McCready died 8 years ago.
14
@missmicheleeexo2269 Actually 2015
12
He died 8 years ago
12
@DJJahT Marty is innocent, a fact known to every rational person on this earth.
11
@zebralove2840 Things were very, very different then than now.
7
@DJJahT Everybody but you, child. The evidence clearly shows that Marty is unquestionably innocent.
6
@Prisca755 See my comment just above yours. He was certainly corrupt in this case.
5
You know this is a rerun from 15 years ago, right?
4
@DJJahT Everyone knows Marty is innocent. You can give up lying now.
4
@DJJahT Everybody knows that Marty was totally innocent.
4
@Nancy-yw1rr Nope. He died Monday, December 28, 2015, at age 68.
4
WM3 is not as clearcut as Tankleff
4
It appeared on the screen early on. August 2008.
3
He didn't lie. He's delusional.
3
@rominahorn427 And to you as well 🙋♂️
3
You'd have to dig up his remains. He died eight years ago.
3
Actually, he died 8 years ago.
3
@DiddlyD-xx2ih You have a very impressive imagination. Perhaps you should write novels.
2
@Bonitaslifestyle See, it doesn't work that way: Just because you can imagine a certain scenario in your head, that doesn't count as proof. Check up "Hanlon's Razor", one of life's most important rules.
2
@nathanielhorrigan2181 Yeah, that makes sense - blame 800,000 police officers for Detective McCready's behavior. Uh huh.
2
Many do. McCready didn't.
2
YT commenters getting crazy again

A book written years later alleged that Detective McCready was involved with Steuerman and Steuerman's son Todd in some very corrupt activities, including cocaine dealing, and knew all along that Steuerman paid Creedon $50,000 for the hit, and that Marty was innocent.

@5GreenAcres The OP missed that point originally, which is presumably why she edited her comment.

I just saw something wild! A book written years later alleged that Detective McCready was involved with Steuerman and Steuerman's son Todd in some very corrupt activities, including cocaine dealing, and knew all along that Steuerman paid Creedon $50,000 for the hit, and that Marty was innocent.

@MaryCBV She's been writing similar comments on different 48 Hours episodes for some time already

@gardensofthegods Tankleff won money from the state and from the county, a total topping $13m. He had no ability to sue McCready.
1
@nikibanks4496 No, that doesn't show what McCready did in any other case, because McCready was dirty in this one - He had a relationship with the crooked partner who ordered the hit, as well as with the partner's drug-dealing son, then McCready lied it about all that in court. Did McCready frame anyone else? We don't know that he did. Anyway, who exactly do you think was living in that part of Long Island, particularly back then? Rich white people.l

We are being saved from hundreds of comments hollering "racism!" by virtue of the kid being white, thank God. Some people love pretending that only minorities are victims, an asinine claim if ever there was one.

He's dead

Turns out that Detective McCready and Bagel King Jerry Steuerman were longtime buddies. McCready lied about that on the stand during the trial. Can't do anything about it now - McCready is dead.

1
@mpettway6982 It's not remotely as clear as Tankleff. Tankleff is innocent, beyond any doubt. The WM3 should not have been convicted, but that is a lot messier. There is in fact contradictory evidence pointing in different directions.

Absolutely false. The justice system is totally, completely diffefent now than it was then.
1
@jparker59able Earth. In the United States of America. Unlike you, I am well aware of the facts on the ground.
1
The OP's claim is demonstrably false. No, there are NOT many innocent people in prison. There once were a few hundred - an absolute tragedy, no doubt, but as a percentage a minuscule amount. We live in a different world now, where scientific and technological advances have changed everything. Furthermore, there is no evidence that race played a significant factor in the previous situation either.

You think that OJ, Scott Peterson, and Casey Anthony were all innocent??!!
