  5.  @andrewnajarian5994  I have no idea if he would have relapsed had he been released. It is certainly not an unreasonable thought. As to your first claim, however, that one is entirely inaccurate. Go back and watch this episode; they neither implied nor said any such thing. More importantly, the perp and the victim's mom sat for five hours. Does anyone believe that she would been affected in the way she was had the perp just made excuses? Obviously not...This episode made clear that he was describing the background that led to his committing those evil acts, but in no way excusing them.
