Why do they keep telling us how much Caitlin and Jackie looked alike, when that is so obviously untrue? They look nothing like each other.

So weird how they kept saying that. "When she walked into the bar, Charles may have thought it was Caitlin". What?? They look nothing alike. Do the think that Joe Biden looks like Al Sharpton too?

@Mrs_Garrison_05 What a strange comment. For one thing, she didn't edit the video, 48 Hours did. It's not her fault that the victim's family refused to be interviewed, leading them to rely on her. For another, reaching conclusions 20% in is a bad idea.

@odessa72 You can find Jackie attractive, whatever floats your boat. But going after Caitlin the way you did is just wrong. No one from Jackie's family - or the perp's family, either - was willing to go on camera with 48 Hours, so the show used a disproportionate amount of the one person who would talk to them, that being Caitlin. So you're blaming her? That's just nasty. She's not the director or producer at 48 Hours; she just gave them an interview, and they relied on it heavily. As far as her being terrified? Yes, she's very young, and she knows she easily could have been killed. Yes, she's very scared. How heartless do you have to be to go after her for that?

@ZoeF.O Lol! But he is a hero.

@lauralei6963 Is it really necessary to attack Caitlin? What is wrong with you?

@VictoriaSays You're the one being disrespectful. She agreed to an interview with 48 Hours. No one else did - not one family member of either the perp or the victim, which is why 48 Hours had to use so much of her interview to help fill 42 minutes. How in the world is that her fault? It isn't. Stop picking on people for no reason. Why do some folks get off on being so critical of everyone, strangers included?

Not just women. I was stalked for years, and eventually moved to get away from him. The law is simply miles behind, limiting what the police can do. Captain Polk did everything he could do.

@rebeccalavoy6655 Your comment is reasonable and measured, not overemotional and hysterical. Are you allowed to write such comments around here?
7
@rebeccalavoy6655 Lol! I appreciate your thoughtful comment, a rarity around here. The overwhelming amount of comments are incredibly stupid, just emotional reactions without a rational thought or a brain cell in sight. My son told me he literally never reads comments, and my wife does so only rarely. Clearly, they are wiser than I am. Why do I bother? Great question. But I do appreciate when folks like yourself provide actual insight; I just wish that these moments wouldn't be so rare.

Oh my god! They killed Kenny!

@josephmarzullo Okay, that's funny. Didn't exactly go over well with this crowd, but you expected as much.
5
@lelemurray5320 As long as you don't blame the ex. What did she do wrong? Absolutely nothing.
5
Weird how they kept saying that even thought it was obviously untrue. And besides everything else, Caitlin is waaay taller than Jackie was - she was 4'11".
4
@cryptoisthewaytogo And had no facial resemblance either. Strange.
4
@lisabastienne7316 I disagree about the resemblance (non-existent), but agree with the rest of your comment. "Catfighting" has been a big joke since Seinfeld (the show) had a fun time with it, but it does seem that some women have this urge to tear down other women, especially if those women - Caitlin, in this case - are more attractive than the commenter can handle. 48 Hours did not get one member of either the perpetrator's or victim's families to speak to them on camera, which forced them to use lots of Caitlin here. Okay, and? Did Caitlin decide how much of her interview would be used in the final production? Of course not. Her being terrified and badly shaken is very, very understandable. So why the ire some women have for her? I not only don't get it, I find it repulsive, honestly.

48 Hours played it off that way in the Utah case, but in fact it wasn't an easy one. And the girl in that case made more mistakes than anyone.

Captain Polk is the best! Those of us who have been stalked know how awful it is (others don't understand). The law is way behind on anti-stalking legislation.
3
@KrisFlix They looked nothing alike. Nothing. Besides all the obvious visual differences, Caitlin is a half a foot taller than 4' 11" Jackie was.
3
@VioletJoy 😁
3
@adambane1719 Yes
3
@jamesstreet228 Caitlin is attractive. Jackie was not.

@jamesstreet228 😁👍

You have no idea what his motive was
2
@answerman9933 Read Rebecca LaVoy's perceptive comment. She is totally correct.
2
@answerman9933 You joined the chorus of those who are unfairly blaming the restaurant manager.
2
@VioletJoy I agree with you, but how did Ebay get into the conversation?
2
@foxibot Not every stalking victim is a female; I know that personally. Unless and until someone has been stalked, they have no concept of how awful it is to live that way. Read about Carla Franklin, who is one of my heroes.
2
@rebeccalavoy6655 Thank you for responding. If you decide to run for King of America or something, you've got my vote. 👍
2
@adambane1719 I can read. Apparently, though, you can't write.
1
@ZeldaReacts1 Yes, a stupid one.
1
@kittykat8177 Lol
1
@rebeccalavoy6655 Do you think? Based upon recent elections, I suspect that exposed improper emails, payoffs from foreign coutries, Russian ties, stripper poles and other what used to be considered scandals are now actual job requirements.
1
@Deelitee I don't understand your comment, sorry.
1
@rebeccawoolfolk5377 So does Al Sharpton
1
@grammichal6759 As if I'm supposed to have any idea what you are talking about
1
@banhammer3904 Yup
1
@merilaescobar What's your problem now?
1
@absolutebackhand7294 What did she do wrong? It is not her fault that no one else was willing to talk to 48 Hours, which is why they were forced to feature her so prominently. Had Vandagraff's family gone on camera for an interview, Caitlin would hardly be so prominent here.
1
@enteryourname2289 The attacks on Caitlin are unfair. 48 Hours relied heavily on her interview only because no one from either family agreed to talk to them on camera.
1
@janedashwood3308 Even that claim exaggerates things
1
@donnawoobiebennett1624 Lol
1
@Jorizzle22 They had no one else who would talk to them on camera. You are correct - not her fault.
1
@misspacino4081 Not her fault. The family members wouldn't talk to 48 Hours, and they had 42 minutes of air time to fill.
1
@Southamericangirl42 1. Caitlin is quite attractive. Jackie was not. Sorry. 2. Caitlin has nothing for which to apologize. She clearly felt horribly about Jackie's death. While there is no need for any family member to speak to the media, there is also nothing wrong with doing so. It is entirely possible that without Caitlin speaking to 48 Hours, they would not have done this episode at all, as they could not have filled 42 minutes of programming. 3. Since you raised the point: Why do so women shave their eyebrows and then paint them back on? I really don't get it. I'm sure many other men would agree with me on that.
1
@Southamericangirl42 Wow, you really just hate Caitlin. What did she ever do to you? SMH
1
@69adrummer really not
1
@AngelaChilders-s4p They look nothing alike, but the ex wasn't trying to make it about her at all. 48 Hours (and all the similar shows) need someone to talk on camera in order to fill up 42 minutes. In this case, no family members talked to them, so they had to heavily rely on the ex to fill the space. That's not her fault.
1
@AngelaChilders-s4p Caitlin did nothing wrong. 48 Hours had 42 minutes to fill, and no family member spoke to them on camera, so they had to overuse her interview to fill the time. Not her fault.
