  9.  @pandamandimax  You are citing the same case as that hideously nasty commenter did just above...Allen may have gotten a raw deal, but he was in fact a repeat offender for distribution, in addition to his conviction for meth possession. Put that all together and he got a life sentence, which is insane, but is still not a sentence for weed possession. He had sold weed numerous times, and got a "habitual offender" designation, leading to that outlandish sentence.

  12.  @dlo3955  You can certainly feel bad for him. But there is no comparison between a 21 year old losing his mother versus that happening to a young child. Countless people have gone to war at age 18 - even younger - and watched their friends gets their heads blown off right in front of them. Many of those 18-21 year olds came home without limbs. Want to convince them that their lives are a party compared to the guy in this video? Part of being an adult is dealing with things like an adult.

Comparing the "trauma" - how we throw around that word these days! - of a 21 year old losing his mother versus, say, a 6 year old? Just stop. PS - For thousands of years leading up to the 20th century, around half of 21 year olds did not have two living parents. Somehow they survived just fine.
