  2. The US gives aid to more than 100 countries. None of them give back to us what Israel does, which includes - but is not limited to - the best intelligence in the world. Beyond that, foreign aid is a tiny percentage of government spending, and worth infinitely more in the goodwill that it earns us throughout the globe. Focus your ire on welfare spending, which is not only a dozen times larger, but is also incredibly destructive to the family and work structure of the US.

  22.  @satguy  Without checking your numbers, I will stipulate that they are correct, and still say that you are drawing erroneous conclusions. Who would be more likely to vote Republican because there is a woman on the ticket? Absolutely no one. Republicans don't care. Democrats are voting Democrat no matter what. As to women voters in general, it has been true for 50 years (maybe more) that women who have never married are overwhelmingly Democrat, and married women with children lean heavily Republican. The gender of the candidate? Nobody cares, especially about the VP candidate.
