As crazy as things were in the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s, there was always a "silent majority" who disagreed, and the media didn't openly BS their way through everything. When Detroit and Watts were lit on fire, the media called it a "riot", not a "mostly peaceful protest". The Weather Underground and the Black Panthers were not held up as heroes, nor was one canceled for opposing them. And sexually abusing children was not socially acceptable back then. Nowadays if one opposes the movement to convince teenage girls by the thousands that they are male, they get banned from society. No, things were not nearly that crazy back then, crazy as things were.
