  2. They said that the previous ruling was meant to be temporary, which is a naked lie. What actually happened was that the previous Chief Justice retired, and Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul added a far left judge to replace her, so they decided to take another swing at it. Last time around, the court ruled 4-3 for the independent map they have now. With the one-judge switch, the court ruled 4-3 the other way. The dissent filed a very sharply worded reply, saying that the court had chosen pure politics over the law. It is important to note that every single judge then and now - all eight - are Democrat appointees.

If you know the first damn thing about US history, the word "gerrymander" entered the lexicon 50 years before the GOP came into existence.   4. I don't know the specifics of what happened in North Carina, but it may well have been improper. I know that this NY ruling was certainly corrupt - which is what the dissent wrote openly. Note that the entire NY Court is Democrat appointees.
