  3.  @SK-ut6tw  There is no evidence whatsoever that the busybody was acting out of spite; even the victim here, Heather Wallace, made no such claim, and she knows who the busybody is ( a neighbor who lives down the block). Just because we are all angry on Heather Wallace's behalf doesn't mean we should invent false accusations against the busybody. Every indication was that she was legitimately concerned about the barefoot 8 year old walking alone. The problem here was the cop and the prosecution, not the lady who called it in. Let's be reasonable. Reacting by being overemotional and making baseless accusations may put us into the same category as the 911 caller, ironically enough. Time to get a grip, really.

I understand a young, healthy person hesitating, particularly with Moderna or Pfizer and potential unknown effects decades down the road. But anyone over age 70 who chooses not to vaccinate, as if he has more to fear from vaccination than he does Covid, needs his head examined.

May I add: Who said that she still believes she did the right thing? I read several articles on the case after watching this video, and none had any follow-up quotes from anyone - not the 911 caller, not the arresting officer, not the local police chief, nor the prosecutor, not the judge, not the defense attorney, no one - outside of Heather Wallace, the obvious victim here, along with her son, Aidan. So anyone announcing what the 911 caller thought then and thinks now is engaged in mindreading and baseless accusations. Let us stick with the known facts, shall we?

  26.  @jt1559  If your argument is that companies would find it to their advantage to offer perks such as paid leave under various circumstances, then let them do so. The government has no business mandating such things. Also, as referenced by @dubjubs, employees ultimately pay the price for everything. Every government program that is claimed to benefit the individual comes with a massive price attached it, inevitably one which costs those it claims to be benefitting more than it helps. But the average person has no understanding of basic economics, which is how we get stuck with incredibly destructive policies such as minimum wage and rent control. Most people support these types of programs, which forces politicians to vote in favor of them, despite their ruinous results.

  32.  @vargdog6602  Every single packaged interview in television history - which is to say every interview not done live - has the same problem. Ultimately, it is the reputation of the interviewer that decides the question. Every time 60 Minutes twists the responses of their interviewee, which is probably 90% of the time, do you react the same way? I would agree that in this age of the internet and YT, it would be ideal if every packaged piece would come along with the entire raw product available online. But Stossel, unlike the mainstream media, has an excellent reputation of being fully fair to guests, something you may not be aware of if you are unfamiliar with him. Why would you start your crusade with Stossel, instead of the 99.99% of other journalists whose history should lead you to question the final presentation?

Reagan was an all-time great president, who was sworn in at a critical time, and turned this country around brilliantly. We went from fearing the Soviets and being weak on the world stage while having a high unemployment and high interest rates at home, and Reagan turned everything around for the better, on all counts, in a very short period. Which is why he was re-elected in a landslide.

That was a case to make 100 years ago, when massive continuous immigration limited the bargaining power of individuals vis-a-vis large corporations, as there was an overwhelming number of available unskilled workers. No more. Business provides its own competition. Strong unions lead to poor quality, overpriced products, economic stagnation, and jobs shipped overseas. And the fact is that right-to-work states are thriving, while areas with pro-union laws, such as Detroit, have turned into hellholes as a result.
