I partially disagree with Stossel. Going into Afghanistan was absolutely correct; screwing it up afterwards doesn't change that fact. And having bases throughout the world helps the US.
2
That was true in Mencken's time a century ago. Now public schools are much, much worse.
2
I am SO going to steal that
2
@Shawn Patton Do you have a point?
2
@darrennew8211 Not sure what's going on, but it seems you deleted your earlier comment, so I guess I should do the same with mine.
2
@srdjan455 Watching his content, for one thing. For another, he won a number of Emmys when he was part of the mainstream media, but then had his "aha!" moment once he realized that his push for more government control caused far more harm than good. It only hurt Stossel's own career to join the resistance, but he did it anyway. Now show me a mainstream journalist who has sacrificed money and mainstream reputation in favor of the truth.
2
I love you, Stossel, but the Overton Window is a real thing. Students supporting genocidal murderers SHOULD be canceled.
2
Yup. I don't know ANYONE who wants to arrest those cretins for saying "From the river to the sea...". We want them arrested for assault and battery, trespassing, and vandalism.
2
@kimobrien. If your point is that you know absolutely nothing about Sowell, then you made your point well.

2
@coolioso808 You know this is a YT comment section, right? There are limits to the scope of a conversation. Why not read Sowell yourself? Short answer: Sowell notes that poverty is the natural condition, and was near-universal for all of history until Adam Smith, the creation of the US, and the Industrial Revolution of the second half of 18th century.

CAIR is a terrorist group
2
Unions ruined Pittsburgh (steel) and Detroit (cars). If companies cannot legally collude, then unions should similarly be outlawed.
2
RFK Jr. has flip-flopped on every single issue. He is not a serious person.
2
On average, there is no question that blacks are more racists than are whites. At the same time, most people of all colors are better than that.
2
Bob Myself Go buy yourself a sense of humor
2
Bob Myself See, this may be hard for you to comprehend, but I have a life, and do not constantly check for responses to YT comments. Sadly for you, you are nothing but a laughingstock around here, yet you continue to dig deeper, you poor thing.
2
@ClimateScamBatman Nice! Where is the list from?
2
@100percentSNAFU I agree with most of your answer, but not all of it. The one part with which I disagree? Norway, where things are not as they are represented by certain parties here in the US. I would strongly recommend you acquire and read Nima Sanandaji's "Scandinavian Unexceptionalism", a very short book (around 100 pages in length) which conclusively destroys the notion that democratic socialism has been successfully implemented in northern Europe. Read it and you will never believe that claim again. As to the German crossdresser in this thread, and immigration, and socialized Canadian medicine? You're dead on.
2
@archcunningham5579 Yes, a great quote from Margaret Thatcher.
2
She's hot, no question. I scanned the comment section for someone else to say that, as I didn't know if I could write that about a religious woman, married no less.
2
I bought a Charles Murray book after it was recommended by Thomas Sowell. If it works for the great Thomas Sowell, then I need to hear no more.
2
@reasonablespeculation3893 Excellent comment 👍
2
@marcar9marcar972 No, they have hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank. Their fundraisers are highly misleading.
2
@jfangm Don't put words in my mouth. I never said she should be forced to share. Encouraged, yes. Forced, no.
2
Do yourself a favor and read the highly regarded "Scandinavian Unexceptionalism", by the scholar Nima Sanandaji. The book is only about 100 pages in length, yet it utterly dismantles the claim that northern Europe has been a democratic socialism success story. That claim is a total fable.

2
@tres311 He's 93, and does almost no interviews (unless he is promoting his latest book). Even travelling to California would be unlikely to net Stossel an interview.
2
@gerikbensing Interesting. Not that long ago.
2
@mileshall9235 Explain why we need Cadillacs
2
@crazyralph6386 Name ^ checks out 👍
2
"Dirt"? It's called "facts".
2
@Sid Whiting No, not triple. About 2.4 times.
2
Great line
2
@stanwolenski9541 I don't blame them at all for not risking it. I do hope that she found a better job quickly.
2
@blackjay5338 Not so simple. For example, everyone loves term limits, but we have them already - it's called "elections". Term limits just limits the rights of the voters. It also accomplishes nothing. Then there is eminent domain, without which we we wouldn't have a highway system. Eminent domain exists for a purpose. You could limit it, but that would probably not be necessary. Ever since the disastrous Kelo decision of 2005, states have enacted their own laws to make sure such things don't happen again.
2
@zigoter2185 Anarchy is hardly a winning idea either
2
@LarryMaccc Thank you for that.
2
@soonerbmama6727 One out of two ain't bad, I guess. That mother was a real piece of work, even lying to her daughter about the dad's wishes.
2
@boredfangerrude Agreed. In fairness, Operation Warp Speed was a smashing success, providing the capital necessary to make this happen at...warp speed.
2
When Stossel was there, anyway.
2
John Stossel is a national treasure
2
Yup. I don't know ANYONE who wants to arrest those cretins for saying "From the river to the sea...". We want them arrested for assault and battery, trespassing, and vandalism.
2
You people are nuts
2
@seanpizzo8256 Are you aware that Republican elected officials certified the vote for Biden? We have had Democrats and Republicans elected all over with this same system for hundreds of years.
2
@seanpizzo8256 Lol! You poor thing. Face it: Trump lost, and he lost because he was a terrible candidate. (The only reason he won in 2016 is because Hillary was worse.) I guess you believe that the Trump-supporting governors and secretaries of state who confirmed the Biden win, as well as the Trump-appointed judges who ruled against him every time in court, they're all part of the "coup", right? Conspiracy theories are the last refuge of the thoroughly disproven.
2
Hate me all you want, but I still think public decency is a good thing. That's where I am a conservative, albeit with libertarian tendencies.
2
@emeraldkaysgarden You wrote, "...read with discernment, let alone read". You do realize that you got that one backwards, right?
2
The media has reportedthe baby formula shortage for a month, but this is the first time I have heard a rational explanation for it. Thank you, John Stossel. And shame on the mainstream media.
1
They have hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank, and should be embarassed at the tone of their fundraisers to begin with. But yes, they are radical leftist propaganda.
