Not spite. Her intentions were good. Note that she may have thought the kid was lost; I doubt she intended for the parent to get arrested.

@SK-ut6tw There is no evidence whatsoever that the busybody was acting out of spite; even the victim here, Heather Wallace, made no such claim, and she knows who the busybody is ( a neighbor who lives down the block). Just because we are all angry on Heather Wallace's behalf doesn't mean we should invent false accusations against the busybody. Every indication was that she was legitimately concerned about the barefoot 8 year old walking alone. The problem here was the cop and the prosecution, not the lady who called it in. Let's be reasonable. Reacting by being overemotional and making baseless accusations may put us into the same category as the 911 caller, ironically enough. Time to get a grip, really.

@matthewkeebler2326 Thinking she did the right thing is not at all worse than spite; it is merely a difference of opinion regarding letting 8 year olds walk home alone. May I add: Who said that she still believes she did the right thing? I read several articles on the case after watching this video, and none had any follow-up quotes from anyone - not the 911 caller, not the arresting officer, not the local police chief, nor the prosecutor, not the judge, not the defense attorney, no one - outside of Heather Wallace, the obvious victim here, along with her son, Aidan. So anyone announcing what the 911 caller thought then and thinks now is engaged in mindreading and baseless accusations. Let us stick with the known facts, shall we?

@SK-ut6tw Of course you want me off, because I methodically destroyed your absurd comments and exposed your foolishness for what it is, all of which is making you very, very uncomfortable. Instead of continuously lashing out, though, try taking a deep breath and actually learning something. Think things through. Perhaps you are still capable of maturing into a thoughtful adult.

@jordanwhite5470 Presumably the neighbor wanted to make sure that the kid was okay, and never intended for the mother's life to be ruined as a result. Note that the mom, Heather Wallace, made no such allegation against the 911 caller, and Wallace knows who the caller is. So let's stick with known facts instead of wild speculation, shall we?

@SK-ut6tw See, I'm honest, and level-headed. Letting your emotions spin out of control to the point that you are not only creating elaborate fictional tales based upon mindreading the 911 caller, only to then go one step further by wildly attacking me for daring to stick to the known facts of the case? See, you have far more in common with the 911 caller than I do. Once you've decided that facts are unimportant, and instead let yourself get taken over by emotions untethered from any factual basis, there is no limitas to where you'll land up. Which is precisely how situations described in this video come about. Because while your sympathies in this case may lie with the innocent victim and her son, you are all too likely to lash out on behalf of the wrong side the next time some other situation arises. That's what happens when people ignore facts and instead act as judge, jury and executioner based upon nothing but their oveheated emotions. Scary stuff. Please never, ever sit on a jury.

@crusherven Indeed, you are correct. 911 dispatchers answer calls all day and night; it is the PD's job to handle things correctly. Someone dropped the ball here.

What happened to you was absolutely horrible, and - I read a few articles online - SO much worse than Stossel described in this video. It is absolutely shocking to read what you went through. These things are NOT supposed to happen in the United States - and certainly not in Texas! At the time, did you call every politician's office and every news station in order to try to bring some attention to this case? Because I can not for the life of me wrap my head around what you and your family went through as a result - losing jobs, separated from your children during the CPS investigation, forced to sell your house - and I'm just a concerned American, with no direct involvement! I'm sure you know that millions upon millions of Americans stand with you. I hope that somehow you go on to lead the effort to stop the foolishness and tyranny which somehow landed up on your doorstep. Perhaps you have been chosen to be the leader of a movement which helps restore American ideals of liberty to the people of this country. If you haven't yet, please reach out to reasonable political and media outlets who have the strength and resources to offer you and your family the backing you absolutely deserve. God bless you. @heatherwallace3397 Thank you for your comment. What has happened you is as shocking as it is shameful. I read about it online, how you and your husband's life have been largely ruined, forced to sell your house, etc. That such a thing should happen in the US - in Texas, no less! - is absolutely insane. Whatever happened to the land of the free? God bless you and your family. I deadly hope that you are somehow able to turn all this craziness into a long-term positive.

Search for "Heather Wallace" online - the situation is MUCH worse than this video reported! Both she and her husband were not allowed to take care of their own children afterward, until CPS finished their investigation. The couple was forced to sell their home. It's horrible. This is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!! And Texas, no less!! What has happened to this country? 😢 God help us!!
