  6.  @stephoso  Your post-modern ideas were in fact implemented in this country, with much of the credit going to the Warren Court. The result was that between 1960 and 1990, the rate of violent crime sextupled - that's right, six times as many people per capita were killed or maimed or raped, after which we wised up and returned to the old system of morality. Unfortunately, some people who don't know their history need to re-learn it the hard way.

  21.  @stephoso  The question is if you are actually that ignorant, or if you're being intentionally dense out of leftist-based hate. Americans who were being violently attacked by specific Native American tribes in unbelievably vicious ways fought back against those tribes. In fact, the same tribes that were having murderous raids against American women and children (and sometimes eating their corpses) were doing the same to rival Native American tribes. Meanwhile, the same Americans who were fighting brutal battles against the worst of the Native Americans were simultaneously allying with other Native American tribes. Meaning genocide was not remotely part of the equation; survival was. As I wrote above, the pro-criminal policies you advocated above (everyone can be rehabilitated, criminals became that way because of surroundings) may or may not have made sense as a theory 70 years ago, but now that the proven results are in - an increase in violent crime to six times the per capita rate - no sensible person thinks it's a good idea. And yes, since you can't defend the indefensible, you are trying to run away.
