Don't believe the OP. People in NYC drove carefully and respectfully. That blackout and others - we've had a few.

That day in 2003 is when many of us learned that fact

It's obviously false, and jingoistic as well. He should have said to wait for the facts to come out. Because when they did - the US took responsibility. Think.

I've lived through several NYC blackouts. "Fun" would not be my choice of descriptions.

@singtweetypie You misunderstood my comment. The mayor's general accusation against the US was not only false, it was ridiculous. Can you name me all those many instances of the US using Canada as a scapegoat? Me neither. I remember the day of the blackout well - I have lived nearly all my life in NYC. While there was a theory posited that it may have stemmed from Canada, no one got too crazy about it, and the whole idea lasted a few hours. This defensiveness about the US was - and is - some Canadians acting insecure.

@singtweetypie You must be living in an alternate reality. Your laundry list of "Blame Canada" moments reads like an episode of South Park. No Canadian I know has any such complaints, and no American is worried about Canada at all. Perhaps you have too much time on your hands? Look into volunteering somewhere.

@singtweetypie Sorry to trigger your insecurities, sweetie. Don't take out your anger, re your own unfortunate life, on some YT commenter. It won't help you.

It was a stupid, jingoistic comment. He should have just said that when the facts come out, Toronto will not have been at fault.
