  1. There's a reason the Fed didn't rush to cut rates. Everyone's jumping on them today for being reactionary instead of anticipatory, but Jay Powell has been clear all along that persistent high inflation - or bounceback inflation - is his #1 bugaboo, more than a limited downturn. As such, I strongly doubt he will rush to drop rates by 500 basis points over the next six or eight months.

  3. Yup. I have gotten absolutely crushed since mid-Feb 2021. Their ineptitude in foreign policy then made things worse with Russia's avoidable invasion of Ukraine. They are awful.
