  4. When David Kaczynski had a lawyer approach the Feds, he made two conditions for turning in the UNAbomber: 1. No death penalty, and 2. No one could know his brother turned him in. Someone immediately leaked to the media that it was Ted's brother David, then the feds went for the death penalty, which is why he pled guilty in exchange for life w/o parole.
