@ish7957 Very much to the contrary. Those of us - a clear majority of the country - who oppose DEI are in favor of meritocracy. DEI is a pretty term used to disguise open bigotry.

@AirOhSoul Sorry, socialism doesn't work. As to the rest of the claim? Blacks and Hispanics have been handed unearned payouts and payoffs for generations now, at the expense of Asians and whites who were penalized for the actions of others. And those others weren't even our ancestors in most cases - for example, what percentage of Americans have ancestors who owned slaves in this country? Under 1%. At a certain point, grievance culture and overt racism has got to stop already. Thankfully, most Americans have come to recognize that.

@Ramez Wissa If I knew you were correct, I'd buy a bunch of their stock (currently trading at $4.04). But while some believe as you do, others are convinced that they're toast. What do I know? They do have a bunch of cash, so that helps.

@skimanfree1073 Hey, they did go up. It's at $4.40 as I write this, but they did exceed $5 in the days after this comment thread showed up. May not sound like a big deal, but getting a 20% bump in a few days is a helluva thing if you've got enough money invested in it. I bought around 25 shares at $4 and sold them at $5, which doesn't get me far.

Not so simple. That makes it far too easy for bad actors to claim to want to return an item, receive a full refund, and then just keep it. They'll do that repeatedly, and the cost is then spread to all customers. Fact is, crooks make everyone's life more difficult and more expensive. If everyone was honest, life would run far more efficiently and inexpensively. One can literally not name a single field in which the rest of us don't land up inconvenienced due to the actions of dishonest people.

@shawnc292 You are correct, of course, and moreso than you know. Studies show that the ones who in fact "benefit" (such as it is) from affirmative action to get into elite schools are in fact the very wealthy children of the elite. Not such a benefit, it turns out, because instesd of succeeding at a school which is a match they tend to fail at a school for which they are underqualified. Everyone loses as a result, because that spot handed to an underqualified minority is taken from a qualified white or Asian. In a sane world, meritocracy avoids all these problems.

@ssllsg9439 Your comment is not only nonsensical, it is contradictory. As to DEI, it violates decency, morality, and the law. Alas, leftists taught to hate others sign on to a life vision wherein they are the exclusive victims of everything. As if all of us white folk were handed everything on a platter. What percentage of Americans are descended from American slaveholders? Less than one percent. What percentage of black folk are descended from American slaves? More than that, but still a decided minority. Now, what percentage of black Americans today benefited from a boost to jump over a more qualified Asian or white to get into a school or get hired for a job? Answer - Nearly 100% of those who made the effort. So anyone trying to even things out should properly be working to benefit Asians and whites, right? Note that first generation Africans who come to this country are disproportionately successful, because they work hard instead of whine. Same goes for those who come over on the ship from Asia, including places like India and Bangladesh, without two nickels to rub together. They don't make excuses, they just outwork everyone else and are successful. Try it some time.

@flyingdaytrader Really?? I was about to comment that there should be such an ETF! I once saw a headline on my newsfeed, something about Cramer being bearish on some stock I never heard of. So I immediately bought some shares, and sold them a day or two later at a profit. No idea what the company does. I intend to check out the ETFs you mentioned. It is amazing that anyone takes Cramer seriously, considering that he is so bad at his job. (Bear Sterns!)
