  22.  Andrew Young  Then, your definitions of 'left' and 'right' are very different to mine. Dictators are authoritarian fascists, by definition. Left and right are opposing political parties, the yin and yang balance of our political system, not the system, itself. If you can't see what Trump is up to, then it is you who has your cranium so far up Trump's posterior that you are deaf, dumb, and blind. Trump uses mafioso extortion to bully his opponents, "I want you to do me a favor." (President Velinski's perfect phone call), punishing our allies by pulling funding from UN, NATO, WHO, et al. His legal henchman, Bill Barr passes out 'get out of jail' cards like candy to Trump's 'family'. Taxes are strong armed robbery? Paying taxes to fund our government's vast services is a patriotic duty of every citizen who benefits from national security, public education, healthcare, infrastructure, social security, EPA regulations, and maintaining a lawful society. I had absolutely nothing to do with slavery, the KKK, nor racism of any kind. It is a disgraceful scar upon my own race. My mother raised me to respect everyone. My lifetime has taught me to respect all life, especially wildlife (above humanity, the scourge of the earth). Political parties sway with the polls, as times and situations constantly change. Citizens United has opened the Pandora's box of political corruption, the greatest assault upon our democratic republic. Now, politicians pander to superPACs and corporate lobbyists, instead of serving the needs of individuals. Mankind has evolved to the top of the food chain, because of its ability to adapt and overcome those challenges. But, personal greed and the love of money has distracted mankind from being stewards of the land to become destroyers of the earth. We MUST change our ways and start using our technical knowledge for ecological restoration and preservation of natural resources and wildlife habitat. IOW, humans need to start wiping their own asses. But, we are currently faced with defending our nation from tyranny at the ballot box. Trump has already destroyed the Republican party. Another 4 years will destroy our nation. Just look at last nights debacle of a debate. Trump simply couldn't be controlled nor was he willing to follow the rules. That's Trump in a nutshell, an impetuous spoiled 3 year old, who defies every rule. This behavior is far below the office of the POTUS. But, Trump's corrupt activities are under investigation and new revelations rear their ugly heads nearly everyday. Trump's own base is dying from attending his irresponsible rallies. Truly patriotic Republicans, like the Lincoln Project and retired generals, are abandoning Trump's sinking ship, just to save our nation. You should do the same.

  23.  Andrew Young  There's no such thing as 'over the top righteousness'; only right, wrong, or mistaken. But, there is self-righteousness, which is a misguided belief in imposing divine judgement upon others. My judgement is based upon common sense and decency, not second guessing the will of Santa Claus. Please stop throwing around terminology that you clearly don't understand. It's not Antqueefah, it's Antifa as in anti-fa(scist). IOW, you just falsely accused them of being the same as 'fascist'. You actually believe that BLM has no right to protest centuries of racial discrimination? Obviously you have no problems with white supremacists, private unregulated militias, anarchists, Boogaloo Boys, Proud Boys, nor hundreds of other good ole boy terrorists, who are fueling the fires of hatred to literally overthrow our government. You offer no solutions, no compromise, no reason; only small-minded tribalistic racism to fuel the fires of hatred. You are part of the problem that is burning our nation to the ground, just as guilty as BLM or anyone else. Let me guess, you would send in the troops to restore law and order, just like an authoritarian dictator. You would incarcerate the direct descendants of the very same slaves, who enriched the lives of white supremacists and wealthy landlords. America is only great because of their blood, sweat, and tears. So, your solution is to increase the weight of your jackboot on their necks? You don't care about political corruption, as long as you can profit from it. Trumptards make me want to puke.

  28.  @chadbasedwick8517  Yes, everyone needs to scrutinize our press, but at some point you have to start believing your own 'lying' eyes. Trump invented the term 'fake news', in order to discredit our independent press, who are the public's eyes and ears on the government as provided by the 1st amendment. Sure, ratings and sponsorship plays a role, but there's PBS, BBC, and nonpartisan news outlets. They can't all be wrong, while Trump's lies are accepted, solely on faith. The medical professionals and WHO are in agreement about the severity of COVID19. But, let's not allow ourselves to be distracted by click-bait sensationalism, while Trump is attempting a coup against our nation. He has assigned cabinet positions to his mafioso family and henchmen, taken control of Congressional Republicans and most Federal Departments, including Barr's DoJ, who have created a multi-agency private militia. They will defend Trump from being physically removed from the WH on January 20th. Trump's gangsta, Post Master DeJoy, has already been caught trying to cripple the Post Office sorting machines to delay mail in ballots from being delivered in time to be counted. McConnell is cramming a right wing SC Judge through the Senate, to ensure that any SCOTUS decision falls in Trump's favor. Russians bot farms are interfering in our election again. There is no limit to the degree of corruption and cheating going on to enable Trump to become our 1st dictator. FLUSH THE TURD ON NOVEMBER 3RD!! Your nation is depending upon it!

  52.  @trombone113  "the Continental Marines of the American Revolutionary War, formed by Captain Samuel Nicholas by a resolution of the Second Continental Congress on 10 November 1775, to raise two battalions of Marines." "At the end of the American Revolution, both the Continental Navy and Continental Marines were disbanded in April 1783. The institution itself would not be resurrected until 11 July 1798. At that time, in preparation for the Quasi-War with France, Congress created the United States Marine Corps. Marines had been enlisted by the War Department as early as August 1797 for service in the new-build frigates authorized by the Congressional "Act to provide a Naval Armament" of 18 March 1794." IOW, the Continental Marines, of which you reference were not a part of the yet to be formed USA government and had nothing to do with the 2nd amendment, because the US Constitution wasn't written until 1776. The US Congress formed the official US Marine Corps in 1798. So what? As I stated, in 1776 when our Founding Fathers wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution in 1789, our newly formed nation was without a formal military, so the 2nd Amendment was provided to allow individuals to protect themselves. "The Second Amendment (1791) protects the right of individuals to keep and bear arms. Although the Supreme Court has ruled that this right applies to individuals, not merely to collective militias, it has also held that the government may regulate or place some limits on the manufacture, ownership and sale of firearms or other weapons. Requested by several states during the Constitutional ratification debates, the amendment reflected the lingering resentment over the widespread efforts of the British to confiscate the colonists' firearms at the outbreak of the Revolutionary War. Patrick Henry had rhetorically asked, shall we be stronger, "when we are totally disarmed, and when a British Guard shall be stationed in every house?" What gives you the impression that I have any communistic ideas? I'm happy to debate issues, but I'm tired of listening to right wing extremist rhetoric and childish name calling. Frankly, I could care less about guns nor the issue of 2nd amendment rights. I don't own one, don't want one, and don't hang around people who carry them. Therefore, it is literally no big deal. My primary issue is defending our nation against Trump's mob. No, I'm not wearing a foil hat, I've been watching and have become very aware of Trump's agenda, which would destroy our nation. Left vs right, conservative vs liberal, etc, etc are all petty differences, of which are only the status quo of politics. More than anything, I'd like those days to continue (but more productively, of course) So, lets drop all of the divisiveness and discuss why you still support Trump, in spite of >200,000 COVID deaths, his constant lies, being an international embarrassment, and the NY mafioso godfather.

  53.  @trombone113  First of all, thank you for your service to our nation. For that reason I would like to respectfully reply to your comments. Military service says a lot about a man, like having adjusted to a regimented lifestyle of discipline and training to become an efficient killing machine. These things are literally drilled into you minds, until it becomes your identity because you have committed your life towards self defense and offence. It's almost like you guys are popped out of a single mold. Right? But, you know nothing about The Hermit, do you? That's why you've only thrown a bunch of right wing bullshit in my direction to see what sticks. Well, it's not just an alias. I AM a 68 year old retired hermit, with no family nor friends, unless you count as one in passing. I'm affiliated with no political party, nor social group. In fact, we have mutually excluded each other. IMO, mankind became misguided when money was invented for middlemen to nibble away at the 'pie'. "Suffer not those who would sell the fruits of your labors for only words." Then, the industrial revolution kicked into high gear, along with environmental destruction and raping the earth for profit, regardless of the long term consequences. The mindlessness of mankind is literally causing the end of most life on earth. We have exploited the earth, animals, and each other for hundreds of years. Now, we need to use our ingenuity and technology to reverse the damage we have caused. This is not a political issue, it's a matter of being responsible for the continuance of future generations. IOW, we need to go back to the future. So, you tell me, Trombone, am I a progressive techie, supporting someone else's 'Green New Deal"; or am I a conservative, concerned with conserving nature, wildlife, clean water and air? For that matter, why don't conservatives support conserving natural resources, instead of fighting for oil and coal fossil fuels?
