@pirate1254 In the USA, politicians are hired and fired by the majority of people to serve the needs of the people. No politician tells me what to do.
But, I'm intelligent enough to learn the scientific facts, then waited months to see whether anyone was having harmful side affects from a vaccine that tRump fast tracked through FDA approval.
So, last month, I walked into a Walmart pharmacy and was protected within a few minutes.
Now, I have nothing personally to worry about, even if unmasked around you.
Personally, I couldn't care less if tRumptard traitors commit suicide at his rallies. But, I feel sorry for their families, who have more sense.

Average American teens have only 3 choices:
1) Stay with parents on unlivable minimum wages,
2) begin adulthood from under a mountain of crippling student loan debt, or
3) survive on the streets as prostitutes or drug dealers.
Taxpayers have 2 options:
1) Pay for temporary higher education to enable young folks to become respectable members of society, or
2} Pay for the life long incarceration of unemployable repeat felons.
On the other hand, privileged elite teens have free rides to unlimited wealth,, served to them on silver platters by their parents, including higher education in ivy league universities, free housing, free EVs, and free tax write offs from corrupt, Republicant politicians.

@hxhdfjifzirstc894 BFS!!
FYI, I'm 70 years old. Been there and have traveled the same path, almost exactly as you've just described.
NEVER made over $40k pa, except for a few good years running my own company, which was reinvested right back into it.
NEVER had my head above water enough to support a family. NEVER had my own children, because I NEVER achieved the 3 bdrm 2 bath home, with the white picket fence and new car in a garage. .NEVER wasted $ on vacations, fancy clothes, nor nonsense.
Paid minimum price for 5 acres of raw land, installed my own septic system, 200 amp supply, and a 4 bdrm mfr'd home for a Thai wife, with 2 sons. Then, she divorced me 2 weeks after I retired, leaving me with the payments.
That ended my dream of building a monolithic concrete dome home, wwhich I had spent 20 years researching, attended building codes and autoCAD classes to design a 3D construction drawing, which only needed an engineer's stamp.
Now, thanks to choosing the lifestyle you've described, I'm a hermit, with no one to inherit my accomplishments, nor to share the knowledge I've acquired though out my life. Fortunately, I'm comfortably retired, living off of my Social Security benefits and an earned lifelong pension, while still driving my deceased older brother's 2000 Ford Taurus, which I purchased from his widow for only $3K.
I just stated the realities of today's job market and you've only destroyed that effort, by advising today's youth how to become losers, instead of how to succeed.
NO! The world has dramatically changed since you and I were teenagers, Pal. There is absolutely no reason for today's youth to endure the hardships that we have been subjected to by making the same bad choices as ours. People like you seem to get some kind of perverse sense of gratification in watching others struggle simply because you have.
I regret not achieving a degree in electronics while my old school mates doubled and tripled my income, for sitting behind a desk.
Now, retired I'm learning analog, digital, electronics, and C++ programming from YT to develop a home Laserium show system, like I used to perform at the London Planetarium, just for amusement, while waiting to die alone.
You're advice is 100% BS.
The American youth of the wealthiest country in the world deserve an education to prepare them for competing in tomorrow's global market, Not yesterday's.
Try applying for a $50k job, without a degree to start a family and you'll soon learn what today's kids are up against.
BTW, today's young women are also earning their own college degrees and wouldn't put up with supporting undereducated losers like you.
Get real and stop discouraging kids against attending college, as if it would be any skin off of your back.
Their higher tax scales afterwards will more than pay for their higher education.
Have you never even attended basic math classes?

@Dbjjr26 No, I'm simply explaining scientific facts for simple minded people.
There's a big difference between having a small infection of a virus, similar to a mild flu, and dying of pneumonia.
If unvaccinated, some have died of flu, some have hardly noticed, depending upon their natural immune health. If vaccinated, only .3% of people who et infected with the COVID virus will end up being seriously ill enough to be hospitalized. The other 99.7% of infected COVID victims will end up in the hospital or possibly die. Get it?
I'm afraid of nothing, including my own death. But, as a 68 year old, single retiree, with RA immune issues, I prefer to not take foolish risks. This is still the only life I'll ever have and don't want to waste it on foolish stubbornism, like an impetuous brat.
The rest of your rant is a meaningless projection of your own ignorance.
It's your life at risk, unless you infect everyone else around you. People like you are also responsible for the last delta wave putting US back into masking and potential lockdowns. Then, you'll blame it in the 'fascist Biden administration' after he has done everything within his power to save lives and get life back to normal. Is your selfish will more important than our nation getting back to normal or do you want more mask laws and mandatory vaccinations?
630,000 deaths and lock downs haven't been enough for you?

@jeanmader2302 IMO, most people get rich by exploiting others until they are poor. It's all about feeding their own greed, not benefiting our country. This is exactly why corrupt 'rich' businessmen, like tRump make bad public servants, which is the duty of a POTUS. Biden understands the difference and is lifting up the downtrodden.
Poverty is created by ignorance, insufficient education, and shear bad luck. Many poor people have good hearts, so they share what little they have with others, until there's nothing more to share.
"It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the gates of heaven" (this atheist agrees).
Capitalism is pure greed. Greed is an unquenchable thirst.
Only heartless people would ignore fellow countrymen starving in the streets or reject children seeking asylum from ruthless drug cartels. It's uncivilized. Yet, this is the moral state of the USA, the wealthiest nation on earth. It's an embarrassment upon humanity.

@IAmTheRealBill The fact is, I was never talking about vaccines within the US. I was responding to the video link's data regarding India's Astrazenika cases of adverse side affects, which is what that commentor was pushing.
There's a gaping hole in the messaging about this entire subject. VACCINES DON'T STOP VIRUSES, THE AUTOIMMUNE SYSTEM DOES.
The vaccines are only triggering the immune system to attack specific viruses. That trigger can happen by being infected via aerial contact, physical touch, or by injecting a dormant, harmless version of the targeted virus, aka vaccine.
The longer a virus is in circulation, the more time it has to mutate and adapt. Perhaps, it even becomes resistant to previous vaccinations. Who knows.
Therefore, the immune system needs to 'see' the infection in order to ward it off and suppress it. Meanwhile, while not ill, the vaccinated person s mildly infected and potentially contagious to others.
FFS, I've only got a HS education from 1970 and this shit is obvious to me. Why is everyone acting so stupid about simple scientific knowledge?

@sademccall6838
Please save your breath. I grew up hearing that same sort of man's twisted preaching and brainwashing.
Every person is an individual who was born without sin. Good is only the opposition of bad, yin and yang, on whatever level you like. Good and bad are mere judgments, based upon one's personal opinion, which is based upon social acceptance within a community.
We don't share the same communities, so our definitions of good and bad probably differ. A gun could be good or bad, depending upon the situation and intentions of its holder. I digress.
No one deserves death (except mass murderers, as a deterrent). Who told you that and why would you even think that way? Death s only the end of life's cycle, nothing more nothing less. Finito. Nada mass.
Santa Claus doesn't exist, Child. There's no reward for being nice at the end of life's season. There's no eternal punishment for living a naughty life. It's all just a fairy tale to condition young minds and instill moral values. But, it's just make believe, with no physical scientific evidence.
sorry to be the one to burst your bubble, but your faith is jeopardizing over 8 billion years of the only known instance of natural evolution in the universe.
Believe whatever you want, but don't throw away life, just because of some insane hallucinogenic dream 2000 years ago. They're nothing special. Millions of people have experienced such nightmares that your faith has selected as gospel from your imaginary god.
Don't doom mankind over nothing but misguided faith.

@raystrong6712 I sincerely hope that your predictions come to pass, Sir. With that level of forgiveness, it would serve as proof that blacks are truly the superior race.
But, I hope the day comes when a person's heart becomes a much more significant indicator of a person's worthiness of respect, rather than skin tone. Perhaps, someday we will all become persons of equal color, which would moot the entire subject of racism. Wouldn't that be a beautiful sight to behold?
The more white supremacists fight and ferment their hatred, the more repulsive they become to more educated moderates, regardless of racial heritage. It's a yin/yang kind of thing, each force countering the other with ebbs and flows, but never to the extremes.
Even animals understand the difference between fairness and abuse. Mankind is no different from any other lifeforms, having the same needs and desires for love and survival. But, that's a different subject, my Friend.

fallingFrom 10kfeet Actually, she worked her way through college as a bartender. Before campaigning to become a Representative. AOC is a political powerhouse and campaigned with Bernie during his primary run. She is the driving force behind the 'Green New Deal', before President Biden picked up the cause. Much of his agenda is upon her wings.
Never heard anything about the casting call at TYT in 2017. Perhaps she was a guest on their webcast, but they're no one's star maker and she's not acting for anyone.
AOC is young, genuinely idealistic, and very opinionated (to her own detriment).
She is so far ahead of society, that she's a little scary for some. At times, I wish she would put a lid on it. But, most of what she says about protecting the environment is absolutely true.
AOC is a rising political star, who will only become more powerful with experience over time.
Oh yeah, she collected $2 million worth of donations to help Texans get through their freeze out and power outages. You remember, when ted Cruz left his own people to suffer while he flew to Can-Cun?
1
-
fallingFrom 10kfeet Yeah, I followed your search and watched all 21 minutes of the 2019 content, with only 638 views. smh
1: Cenk Uygur of TYT, decided to create his own brainchild caucus to recruit dynamic, small donor progressives away from the 'Hillary' loser Democratic party to start the 'Justice Democrat' Party (which no one but you has ever heard of since). So, he hired an ad company to promote the chosen 'recruits'. AOC was their shining star.
2: @ 12:20, the female member stated that AOC wrote her own narration for her very successful 2016 campaign ad that was so popular that she won the HoR seat.
3: @16:30, during AOC's diner meeting with the ad company, she informs them that she had been live streaming her life's story since 2016, prior to ever meeting any of TYT's people.
Later on, the female repeats all of AOC's goals, as if it was their Justice Democrats' own agenda.(rip-offs)
4: @ 18:58, Cenk introduces the first guy as being AOC's Chief of Staff. IOW, he works for AOC, not visa versa.
Conclusion:
TYTs and their ad people had nothing to do with AOC's fame and political success, because she had already won her HoR seat in 2016 all by herself. They were only hanging onto her coat tails, like groupies.
Cenk's illusion of grandeur, aka Justice Democrats was nothing more than his overly inflated pipe dream that went nowhere.
Now, TYT is nothing more than another YT political pundit show, which are a dime a dozen.
Meanwhile, AOC out grew them and moved on, leaving them eating her dust.
After her 1st term, AOC succeeded in being re-elected and has become one of the most influential Democrats in Congress.
I'm afraid that you were only taken in by the TYT's own arrogant account of their little tale wagging AOC's fierce Chihuahua.
Why are you going to such lengths, trying to diminish AOC's skyrocketing into prominence within the Democratic party? She is clearly a self made woman. The least you could do is give credit where credit is due.
Finally, a 'casting call' is when a production company summons selected actors into their studio to audition for a part in a movie. Hence, the proverbial 'casting couch' cliche'.
It is a completely inaccurate use of the term in this scenario.

That tells me all I need to know in order to tell where you are coming from. You get your info from right wingnut jobs, who are spreading lies, conspiracy BS, and hysteria just to use fools like you in order to make money. No, I'm not supporting tRumptard traitors, such as they.

@drayker99 BFS, tRumptard! The 2nd amandment was never intended as justification to overthrow our own government of elected officials. The Founding Fathers designed our government to be of the people, by the people and for the people. So, if the majority want to replace the leaders, then they can do it through the democratic election process, just as we did last November by getting rid of tRump.
The 2nd amendment was written before the US had a cohesive military and pioneers had to defend themselves from the British monarchy and/or other foreign nations, such as the French and Spanish.
Now, the USA has the strongest, most invincible military in the world to defend our citizens and private militias are actually illegal. Your little pea shooters are useless against our government's military.
Why do you think tRump waited to call off his mob, until the National Guard was being deployed? Simply because he didn't want his fans to get hurt.
So, STFU you anarchist Traitor, because you don't know what you're talking about. Radical right wing extremists just like you are the greatest threat to our national security and your entire arsenal should be confiscated, based upon your stupid comment, promoting yet another coup attempt upon our nation's government.
The majority of voters have already spoken and Biden is our chosen POTUS. So, stop your whining, lil Bitch.
1
-
@drayker99 Really? Not half as much as I do. It's only a matter of choosing to tell the truth over lies. The USA needs hundreds more patriotic keyboard warriors to battle the right wing Qanon conspiracies, Russian trolls, and anti-Dem propaganda.
This is the front line of the information war against our democratic republic. Russia and China don't need nukes, while they can eat our nation's heart out, from within, just like a cancer.
Since tRump, Congressional Republicans stand in front of national TV and lie their asses off, just to appease their master.
They are enablers and conspirators in the Capitol insurrection, which is the reason they voted down the bipartisan investigation.
Mat Gaetz and MTG are even campaigning together to fund raise.
This is NOT what America professes to be, a nation of laws in defense of truth and justice.
Try it sometime. It feels good to be doing what's right for the nation, regardless of political affiliation. I'm sure that there are many fine Republicans left and I respect the concept of debating POVs, who eventually compromise to serve the mainstream. But, I condemn individuals using excessive force to bully their ways.
I also condemn Moscow Mitch conducting 100% political obstructionism to enable the minority of Senators to block progress while China is walking all over US with state sponsored innovation and manufacturing.

@dezznutz3743 There are both government PEL grants and private lenders, who can destroy a student's credit ratings, cause huge interest hikes for defaulting on a single payment, plungnig their victims into decades of debt.
The USA should provide free higher education, just like most other developed countries.
On top of that, the costs of higher education has skyrocketed in recent year, making bad matters intolerable.
Of course, rich kids' parents cover all costs, without loans nor interest, plus nice new cars and free housing. Their kids enjoy the benefits of ivy league universities, with nothing more than their studies and parties to worry about.

These GQP Congessmen are literally F'ing insane. Their divisive rhetoric and blatant lies are irresponsible and beneath the dignity of the office they hold. Instead of solving any problems, they only know how to nit pick and criticize by resorting to outrageous exaggerations.
Trump left the US in this mess, but these dishonest POS politicians blame every problem on the Biden administration, who has only been in office for 6 months. During that time, every single bill as met 100% Republicant opposition in the Senate. So, how is Biden the cause of our woes?
They only know how to point fingers at Dems, demonizing over half of US voters. But, the historic records say otherwise. Reagan's trickle down economy only transfers taxpayer revenues to the filthy rich, who don't even need it. That's why our infrastructure is crumbling, the national debt has grown beyond imagination, and poor folks can't afford higher education to become more employable.
Clinton handed GWBush a balanced budget, which he only poured into a 20 year $5 Trillion ME war, without even taking out Bin Laden.
Obama had to abandon his 2008 campaign to rescue Wall Street, homeowners, the auto industry, and healthcare. Trump followed with removing Wall Street oversight and gave them $2 Trillion of taxpayer revenues. Now, our economy is on its knees and Biden has to come to the rescue yet again.
Yes, Biden's stimulus package costs $1.9 Trillion, but it's paid for by enforcing the existing IRS laws.
Republicants only know how to talk trash, but have absolutely no ideas regarding how to govern responsibly. That's why they go to kiss tRump's ring and kowtow to his whims. smh

@enidankavon Joe hasn't changed any immigration laws. He's only enforcing them in a more humane way than leaving refugees stranded in primitive camps along the Mexican side of the border, without money, food, drinking water, nor electricity and sewers.
Yes, over recent years, they have increasingly been fleeing for their lives in fear of being murdered by drug cartels. But, illegal crossings and human trafficking are still illegal and when apprehended, they're sent back home, as the laws require.
But, Biden has rebuilt the immigration department that Stephen Miller & tRump decimated and has provided decent temporary accommodations for legal asylum applicants and counselors to process their paperwork.
tRump's wall was a stupid failure, which doesn't stop illegal entry and he only turned his back on helpless refugee children.
Biden/Harris are humanely handling the situation and addressing the root cause in their homelands.
The difference is the decency of leadership.

Wikipedia:
"Personal life
Since becoming a public figure, Boebert has told reporters that her parents divorced when she still lived in Altamonte Springs. But no father is listed on her birth certificate, nor are there records of such a divorce in Seminole County. Boebert's mother filed multiple paternity suits between 1987 and 1990 alleging that pro wrestler Stan Lane is Boebert's father. A paternity test Lane took in 1990 ruled him out as the father, and the suit was dismissed. In 2012 Boebert's mother sent the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation a letter asking for further investigation, but there is no record that the bureau took any action. A Twitter account attributed to Boebert's mother and comments attributed to Boebert and her mother on YouTube videos and blog posts between 2008 and 2013 continued to allege that Lane is Boebert's father and argue with an account attributed to Lane's wife, Maria.[123]
Boebert and her husband Jayson live in Silt, Colorado.[124] Before they opened a restaurant, Jayson Boebert worked in oil and gas fields.[7] They have four sons.[16] She became a born-again Christian in 2009.[17]
In 2010, Boebert's neighbors called police because they believed her pit bulls were threatening their dogs. Boebert received a ticket for dog code violations.[125]
In 2015, Boebert was cited for misdemeanor disorderly conduct at a music festival for telling officers that their arrest of a couple of underage drinkers was unconstitutional because the teenagers had not received Miranda warnings. As she was being handcuffed, according to deputies' reports, Boebert tried to twist away from police, saying that "she had friends at Fox News" and that the arrest would be "national news." She twice failed to appear in court on the charge. The petty offense was dismissed because the Mesa County district attorney's office believed a jury would not convict her.[126]
In 2016, Boebert was cited for careless driving and operating an unsafe vehicle. On February 13, 2017, she was arrested and booked in Garfield County Jail for failure to appear in court on these charges. She pleaded guilty to the unsafe vehicle charge." smh

@johnlarson5255 Thank you for the respectful advice, but no thanks. Been there, done that. But, since you're not spewing hyperbolic hateful adolescent insults at me (like most tRumptards), perhaps we can have a civil political discussion, if you can handle hearing my honest POV.
First of all, please allow me to properly introduce myself, instead of presuming to know, classify, and label me based upon your own perceptions.
I grew up on an Ohio farm until I graduated from HS in 1970. I was a Sunday choir singer at the Nazarene church, until I was group pressured to beg the Lord for forgiveness, just because I went to a school dance. I moved to sunny LA as soon as I graduated to check out those bikinis the Beach Boys sung about. That's when I started experimenting with drugs and questioning the status quo. I had friends from different races, including blacks, Mexicans, and Asians. After Nam and the Kent State massacre, I wasn't interested in the government nor politics.
After 7 years of becoming a machinist/tool & die maker in the aircraft industry, I happened upon a change of career that took me to England for 10 years, where I met all sorts of people from all walks of life. That's when I realized that the world knows as much (if not more) about the US as we do, but from a nonAmerican perspective.
I learned that our invincible military is frowned upon for invading nations for oil or nation building to impose our lifestyle upon others. Such arrogant bullies are we.
I also studied alternative religions and philosophies, such as Buddhism. (Recently, I've become an atheist).
Upon returning to the states ~1990, I became a computer technician at a local college for 18 years, until I retired in 2015.
Now, I'm a maker of IoT devices for automated climate control of an aquaponic greenhouse.
Like I aid, been there, done that. Have experienced more than enough of mankind and US society than I are to. Now, I observe it from the end of a wireless connection. smh
This is my only method of communication to others, so yes, I'm a hermit by choice.
I hope that blows away your condescending prejudices regarding who I am or whether you have any right to advise me about jack shit.
I've read your comments and they all sound like Fox Spews divisive political propaganda. IMO, you are the one who needs to get out of your silo more often. How many Dems, blacks, Hispanics, Europeans, or Asians do you associate on a personal level? Why do you presume to know the minds of people you know nothing about? Then, you try to slice and dice them into your pigeon hole. You're a very arrogant person, aren't you?
Yet, you're so naive that you still don't see through tRump's BS. The man is nothing more than a 2 bit con man, who was borne with a gold spoon up his ass. Wit an allowance of $20,000 per month, he could bully any kid in school. He is well known for cheating throughout his life, whether it was on exams, wives, bribing politicians, stiffing subcontractors, bankrupting Casinos, tax fraud, golf, Russian collusion, or his own supporters.
The don behaves like a mafioso mob boss, with a team of lawyers to intimidate anyone who gets in his way. His only loyalty and trust is his own offspring, upon whom he is totally dependent. tRump is not even a good team player. He has to personally micromanage everyone and everything. He's never been held responsible for anything in his life, except for taking credit for the accomplishments of theirs. Can't stand listening to his grandiose postering and ridiculous exaggerations of himself and ruthless attacks against his foes.
tRump knows absolutely nothing about the Constitution, Congressional procedures, International politics, nor nonpartisan public service; IOW, all the important essentials of being POTUS.
tRump's initial maneuver was to choose the most easily corruptible political party, that could be bought. Then, he ruthlessly assaulted he other 'team' with 5 years of extremely divisive rhetoric, like. "those radical left wing socialists, who only want to take away your freedom and destroy our wonderful country" blah, blah, blah like a recording on a loop, brainwashing his weak minded, sheltered evangelicals who believed that he cared enough to help them, instead of fleecing them for donations and votes.
Yes, Don the con can put on quite an amusing show.He reads his audience well and keeps spewing their red meat, seasoned however they want it. I digress.
The problem with lying at public political rallies is that the MSM is recording promises, fact checking rhetoric, and reporting their opinions. So, we all saw how tRump handled the 'crooked MSM, not telling people the truth". BTW, that's typically a dictator's initial means of taking control of a country.
Once no one trusts the press, who can tell the difference between truth and lies? Isn't that precisely the state of our nation following tRump's administration?
Once elected, tRump surrounded himself with his hiers (to his envisioned throne!) and mob henchmen, like Giuliani, Barr, Patreas, Miller, Bannon, etc, etc.
Then, tRump needed to control his Congressional nemesis of political oversight. So,he invited every Republican Congressman into the Oval office for his 'embrace' to seal their pledge of unwavering loyalty... or else. IOW, the Godfather gave them an offer they couldn't refuse. Frpm that point forward, tRump owned the Republican party and demanded their obedience, just like the NY mafia's protection racket.
You know most of the rest. But, my issue is with the man and his enablers, not with people who have different POVs to myself. I hate how tRump has divided our nation to the point of civil war threats and the racial violence of his energized white nationalist supremacists. (queue BLM whataboutism, smh) There's no denying that tRump incited the Capitol insurrection attempt to obstruct the transfer of Presidential power with lethal force.
How can you be so naive and blinded by his bullshit to not see these truths to be so self evident?
I'm not the problem. Dems are only defending Constitutional law by holding tRump accountable. Their enemy is my enemy and for all the right reasons, human decency, law, and order.
They represent and defend everything that makes America great, like helping the downtrodden, instead of dishing out $2 Trillion tax breaks to billionaires, in exchange for political donations. "Pay my campaign costs and I'll repay you with taxpayer revenues." <wink&nod>
It's 5:00 am and time to crash. Later.

The grim reaper has spoken; but not a word about the UN climate report, how to save mankind from itself, nor about tRump's $2 Trillion unfunded tax break for the filthy rich. No, Moscow Mitch only puts together an endless string of doom and gloom, hyperbolic, right wing, phrases to demonize Dems, who are only trying to help the unemployed, families, small businesses, children, the nation's economy and the world.
How did we get in such a dire situation to need such a large investment? Because of Republicant climate deniers, Reaganomics, Bush's wasteful ME wars, petroleum lobbyists, and science denying evangelicals.
No matter how nonpartisan I try to be, the GOP are always on the wrong side of every policy, while Dems are trying their best to be responsible, fair, and just for everyone's benefit.
Yeah, I said it. Disagree? Then, show me one Republicant bill that helps people out of poverty, increases the minimum wage, makes education and healthcare more affordable, purifies drinking water, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, or saves lives against COVID. ZZZzzz...
1
-
The Republicants are always explaining the motivations of Democrats, who they are incapable of understanding. What's the point of Harris going to the border, while the roots of the immigration are located in the northern triangle countries, where she is working?
Why didn't the Republicant Congressmen take their shit-show to the primitive refugee camps along the Mexican side of our border, where tRump left them stranded without money, food, drinking water, sewers, nor electricity? Those poor folks are easy prey for cartels and human traffickers, but I don't hear the tRumptards shedding any tears for them. Yet, there's such an outrage for those who are being safely temporarily detained in BP shelters.
The GQP has no solutions, only ridiculous complaints about irrelevant BS.

@TheirOwnWords If racial massacres are always hushed up and swept under the rug, how would anyone know how many times it has happened since? Don't try to tell me that other racially motivated mass murders haven't happened over the past 100 years. Only last year, some white gunman shot up a black church full of worshipers.
I'm 68 years old and never hear about the Tulsa massacre, until this centennial anniversary rightly brought it to the attention of the press and it went viral.
Yes, I am appalled by the brutality and ashamed of my own race's barbaric history. You should be as well, if your a white person with an ounce of moral decency. It shouldn't have anything to do with political affiliation.
But, apparently only Dems possess that ounce of moral decency, respect, and empathy for fellow human beings, regardless of race.
You're right that some whites have had nothing to do with racial injustice and can't turn back the hands of time to take it away.
But, surely we can acknowledge our own history and find ways to make amends for those who are still suffering at the hands of our forefathers.
FFS, Man. Can't you put yourself in anyone else's shoes for a few seconds of mindful thoughts?

@fnusecurity5112 Neither political party is what it used to be 100 years ago. So, there's no point in politicizing historical racism with today's parties.
Here's what is happening now. Democrats are trying to help blacks, refugee children, unemployed and underpaid folks, plus protect voters' rights. Today's Dems support empathy and justice.
Republicans only know how to obstruct progress, ferment violent racism, take away women's rights, leave refugees stranded in border camps, eliminate social safety nets for struggling American families, and cheat the electoral progress. Today's Republicans only care about hoarding personal wealth and power. Screw everyone else.
Republicans are no longer the majority and have overplayed their hand so much that they can't win fairly, so they lie, cheat, and steal, just to force their primitive beliefs upon other fellow Americans.
Instead of supporting democracy, they only want to overthrow it with ruthless authoritarianism and force, including threats of a civil war.
REPUBLICANS ARE TRAITORS!

@chupameelhuevo2662 My kind? I am not part of any kind. FYI, hermits are solitary individuals, who don't run with any packs nor herds of humanity. I'm a political demographic of one vote. So, don't pretend that you know nor understand anything about me whatsoever.
But, I understand your kind very well. Your kind think that politics is a celebrity contest and vote for the candidate who delivers the funniest one liners and insults.
Your kind are naive evangelicals, who still believe in fairy tales and that some angel will save them from their own stupidity. Your kind fall for some crazy concept that a narcissistic, self-serving con man, who has cheated all of his life for his own personal gain will help poor folks that he calls losers. Your kind don't care about a candidate cheating on school exams, on playing golf, on income taxes, on his pregnant wives with whores, cheats on elections with Russian collusion. cheats tRump University students out of tuition, cheats on his own charity foundation, cheats subcontractors out of business, and cheats on bank loans.
Your kind don't care about the will of the majority of voters and your kind of insurrectionist traitors stormed our nation's Capitol to deny our Constitutional transfer of power and your kind attempted a coup on behalf of a corrupt wannabe dictator.
Your kind only know how to spew BS rhetoric, instead of trusting in facts and data, revealed by multiple nonpartisan recounts and audits. Your kind refuse to trust your own electoral college and tRump's own judicial appointees.
Your kind are radical redneck white supremacist, gun toting anarchists, who truly want to destroy our government.
Your kind of tRumptard traitors make me want to puke.

@joethomas9574 First of all, I don't speak on anyone else's behalf, nor as a member of any political party.
IMO, AOC is young, energetic, idealistic, outspoken, did I mention young?
I think she is absolutely correct about the need to act urgently and aggressively to mitigate climate change, for all the right reasons. That requires significant changes in human behavior to minimize dependencies upon fossil fuels, including transportation and plastics.
That scares the wits out of conservatives, who are primarily climate deniers, oil workers, and lobbyists. So, there's monumental opposition for all the wrong reasons.
I think mankind has done more than enough mindless destruction of natural resources, primarily stolen resources, solely for greed. Enough is enough. Our house is already on fire and many 'patriots' won't even piss on it.
"AMERICA is long gone!!!" Only because of people who believe in such pathetic BS! Get an education in environmental science. Be more mindful about wasting gas on power toys and travel. If everyone does 1 thing to help the environment, then at least the mind is considering the possibilities to live more responsibly.

@ricn5494 WTF are you talking about, now? I'm scared of nothing, never lock my doors and don't even own a gun. My nearest neighbor is 100 yards away, yet we rarely see each other.
I own a 4 bedroom 2 bath home on 5 acres of land, in the foothills, near None-of-Your-Damn-Business, USA.
I drink Kahlua with my morning coffee, Tequila with my OJ, and wine with my evening meals.
I'm happily retired, and standing upon the solid grounds of scientific facts. I'm a maker of IoT devices, an inventor of sustainable products, a laser systems engineer and laserist just for fun.
What people like me? Hermits aren't herd animals, nor do we run with any packs, mobs, nor cliques You don't know anything about me, nor of my lifestyle.
I do and say whatever TF I like, whenever I like.
Don't feel sorry for me, you arrogant jerk. I have been places and experienced things you could never dream of. Now, I answer to no one nor subject myself to society's
expectations and judgments.
Now, WTF is your problem?
1
-
@ricn5494 No. I still don't get your point.
First of all, I never developed any vaccine. You're simply parroting my own words about tRump never putting on a lab coat, while taking credit for the vaccines being developed. WTF?
There you go again, talking about MY people. WTF are you talking about? I don't have any people and am an Independent thinker, not a Dem. But, I would never EVER vote for any of the current GQP nut jobs.
Yes, now I tell people to get vaccinated, because that's the only way out of this pandemic and the only way to return to normal life. What's your problem with that?
Now, you're attacking Dems with right wing BS rhetoric. The only 'fallout' is being caused by tRumptards and evangelical anti-vaxxers, because they are the most vulnerable and contagious. If they would stop being so scared and stubborn, no one would still be dying. They are the ones overwhelming hospitals. They are the ones dying. They are the ones testifying that they regret not getting vaccinated.
Dems are being cautious, following the CDC guidelines, wearing masks. getting vaccinated, and not getting seriously ill.
How TF can you make such an ignorant partisan accusation against the half of US society who are doing everything right, while YOUR people are acting like idiots?
Go away, tRumptard. I don't talk to traitors.

@samj7681 I don't believe in prophets, biblical or otherwise. The future is not yet written, but scientific data can form trend lines, projecting into the near future, making events like climate change inevitable, unless mankind becomes more mindful of his affects upon nature. Your invisible god has nothing to do with it.
IMO, time is the only omnipotent god, passively effecting every life form, from birth to death and every moment in between. It determines our goals, when to marry, when to procreate, and when to pass every accomplishment on to the next generation. Ignoring the 'passage of time' will only result in failure. It's even mentioned in your bible. "There's a time to laugh, a time to cry, a time to reap and a time to sow...."
The only universal law is the simultaneous forces of opposition and attraction, waxing and waning between Yin and Yang. Those opposites exist in everything from the smallest atomic particles to the gravitational forces of the universe's heavenly bodies. Positive vs negative, up vs down, left vs right, forward vs backward, good vs bad, right vs wrong, yes vs no, black vs white, and so on.
"Everyone is somewhere." But, the most important thing is to be in the right place at the right time. Plan for the future, but live in the present. :-)

@stassimarlowe9108 "He's making a list, checking it twice. Gonna find out whose naughty or nice. Santa Claus is coming to town.
He knows when you are sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows when you've been bad or good. So, you'd better be good for goodness sake."
You are very focused upon "the enemy". Without your god, my enemies simply cease to exist, especially those here on planet Earth.
"God spoke to the prophets in the bible who wrote those stories."
How do you know that Satan wasn't speaking to those self professed prophets? How do you know that they didn't write those stories in order to control and subjugate weaker minded sheeple?
"You do understand that angel's used to walk this earth?" Did those angels have wings or not? Do birds fly in the air or walk on the ground?
"After all, we are made in the image of God." Isn't that just a little too convenient for mankind? What color is your god?
"Jesus did die on the cross of calvary for all world's sins." Thousands of Christians and Jews died upon Roman crosses. But, no one still worships them 2 thousand years later. Oh, that's right, none of their bodies were removed by grave robbers nor did they ascend into heaven, according to the story. That's the sole basis of your faith. Fairy tales, fortune tellers, and ego.
I'm so much more happy not living my life second guessing the will of an invisible entity, always watching my every move, and waiting to be judged. Watching for imaginary cryptic signs in clouds.
You can live in fear of your demon enemies and wait for some nonexistent heavenly reward in your afterlife beyond the grave, if you wish. But, I'm going to continue to appreciate every moment of life, here and now. Because that's all I'll ever have, just like every other life form on Earth. They're not worried about your demons any more than I.

@JM-it2zo You like the deep waters? Dive into this, Friend.
God is immortal. God is omnipotent. God is beyond the alpha and the omega, existing before and after everything.
God decides when everything occurs in all lives from birth to death and everything in between.
God determines when a baby is born, laughs, cries, eats, drinks, defecates, walks, talks, goes to school, reaches puberty, mates, propagates, and dies.
Pay attention to God's signs to ensure success. Ignoring God's signs will only ensure failure.
The name of my God is 'Father Time'. -TheHermit 1:1
The struggle between the opposing forces of Yin and Yang is the only universal law, from atomic particles to planetary orbits, everything ebbs and flows, like a tug of war between opposite extremes or waves along the shore. Extreme positions require extreme force and unsustainable energy. But, peace, calm, and truth can be found in the depths of the mainstream. -TheHermit 1:2

@doc.christopherthompson324 No. TheHermit is an atheist, who doesn't believe in heaven, hell, nor in any immortal soul with an afterlife nor reincarnation. Demons and demigods only exist within the insane minds of brainwashed sheeple of mankind's religions, which only exist to control the masses.
IMO, we only get one shot at life. Each one is unique and precious. So, live it to the fullest, with honor and decency. There's no need to fear death. It is merely the end of life's natural cycle. But, I don't tempt it with foolish, irresponsible behavior.
My life is only relevant to myself. The continuance of all life on Earth is far more significant. Mankind has been the Earth's cancer. Now, that scientists understand that fact, it is time to evolve into being the cure. Otherwise, our existence has no meaning.
If you take issue with my beliefs, please address me directly, instead of trying to ridicule me to others, like a coward.

@littlemissbossy1000 Just a left handed US citizen, with common sense and decent moral convictions. I put my faith in provable science, not fairy tales. I support our POTUS, human rights, racial equality, and mitigating man made climate change to preserve the only known life forms in the Universe. I support the US Constitution and the vision of our Founding Fathers. I hate guns and ignorant people who need them to impose their values upon others.
I don't call that extreme in any way.
I call the GQP conspiracies, insurrectionists, and naive tRumptard traitors extreme.
But, the fact is, you don't know me, can't categorize me, nor label me.
I'm an independent thinker, inventor, and a solitary hermit because of crazy ass people like you. Now that I'm comfortably retired, I don't need to put up with any BS from anyone and don't give a damn about what others think of me.
If you've got any problems with me, then FO and leave me alone.

@edwhite7078 No one controls me, but myself. I freely choose to believe in provable scientific facts, regardless of where the facts lead.
Scientists have to be objective, without personal agendas. They certainly aren't motivated to control people, but only to solve problems. Without them, we would still be living in caves, which I don't, BTW. Nor am I homeless. FYI, not that it's any of your business, I own a 4 bedroom, 2 bath home on 5 acres of foothill property. I'm comfortably retired and 100% independent of society's influence. But, I like to keep an eye on it and express my POV.
What's your excuse?

@Koi G I'm not reviewing 100 comments to find your reference, but the only fearmongers I know are the right wingers, who only know how to spew doom and gloom about Biden's agenda, especially tRumptards. His entire con was nothing more than "radical left wing Democrats, who only want to take away your freedom and destroy our nation."
In fact, that was precisely tRump's primary objective, which was proven last Jan 6th.
"I'm the only one who can save our nation." smh
On the other hand, President Biden passed the ARP stimulus bill, which distributed vaccines to stop the pandemic (which tRumptards refuse to take), save families from being evicted into the streets, save small businesses from bankruptcies , etc, etc, etc. Biden is trying to lift up the downtrodden victims of COVID, but Republicants only want to leave poor folks struggling, while giving away tax breaks to the filthy rich.
You only need to pay attention to the politicians own words and ignore the pundits, who only seek ratings with grossly exaggerated rhetoric. Don't believe YT strangers. Do your own research.

@noahsark1962 Common sense tells me that taking safe(r), simple & easy appropriate measures to protect myself and those around me is about as basic critical thinking as one can have.
Considering the success rate, the lack of side affects, and number of unvaccinated who are still being hospitalized and dying, it is illogical and insane to continue resisting a couple of jabs.
That doesn't even factor in the consequences of more lock downs, online schooling, no child care, parents stuck at home, bills piling up, unpaid mortgages & rents, etc, etc, etc...
F**k any individual who puts our nation in economic jeopardy, just for the sake of their own selfish stubbornness
Why even bring illegal immigrants and politics into this discussion? Can't you focus upon a single subject, without creating distractions and resorting to whataboutisms?

@grapevinestoragescribner8518 Thank you for that thoughtful and respectful reply. It is neither condescending nor self-righteous.
While I agree with many of your points, especially your initial sentence and that spirituality can be practiced without being limited within the boundaries of a specific religion, I still don't see any difference between mankind and other animals.
Modern science can detect atomic particles and witness past events while scanning the universe. But, the immortal soul, spirits, and gods can only be recognized via faith. So easily modern man has dismissed Zeus, Thor, Athena and all other gods from ancient history. Yet, many still cling to the belief that there is only one omnipotent god. Then who is Satan, if not another immortal god of evil?
Again, even within our own minds, there must be a struggle between good and evil, the ebb and flow between the opposing forces of yin and yang.
But, neither yin nor yang need the invisible god nor Satan to exist anymore than action vs reaction. The harder one pushes a swing, the more it will push back in return.
Mankind is hung up on some misguided notion that there is some mysterious divine purpose for all things. But, we must be responsible for ourselves and determine our own purpose and goals. Our self worth is dependent upon our own accomplishments, which are only reflections of our endeavors. Others will judge our significance, based upon their own awareness.
By definition, The Hermit rejects the misguided judgments of mankind and walks his own path. Life can be as simple or complicated as we make it. I choose simple facts. The Buddha taught that happiness doesn't depend upon wealth nor possessions, but by living respectfully. We can either accept reality or do our part to make it better. This is the ultimate path and purpose of one's life. Why do we need some god to explain that to us?
Best regards, Sir.
