  1. Das Problem war, dass das Reichswirtschaftsministerium berechnet hatte, dass die Lieferungen aus der Sowjetunion nicht ausreichen werden. Wir brauchten das Öl im Kaukasus. Außerdem darf man nicht vergessen, dass die SU immer das eigentliche Ziel war. Polen wurde lange gebeten, sich dem Kampf gegen den Kommunismus anzuschließen. Also was macht man, wenn zwischen dem eigenen Land und dem eigentlichen Ziel noch ein Land liegt?

  2.  @Uajd-hb1qs  There is also a large concentration camp in Buchenwald. That is directly near Weimar. In Weimar are the great German classics Goethe, Schiller, Herder Wieland. I recommend starting the day at the Goethehaus and Schillerhaus in Weimar, then eating excellent Thuringian lunch at one of the many good restaurants there, then touring the concentration camp (there are direct buses) and then coffee and cake in the city center. I used to do this as a student and still think of it fondly. Very relaxing, especially in the summer.

  3. I don't want to "disappoint" you, but there are many others going through very different history. Most Ukrainians in 2023 have much much worse things to tell.

  5. In a constitutional state, it is customary to receive a fair trial and not to curse someone beforehand. It is possible that Mengele was incapable of guilt.

  7. Insane yes but it happened over and over again. Concentration camps run by the British in Kenya (1952-1960) or in former Yugoslavia run by Serbs.

  12.  @CraigMcGuinn  "his family's descendants should feel guilt on his behalf" - then about 50% of Americans and Britons should feel guilt for the many crimes of their ancestors. Just pick one, because the list of crimes is endless, starting with the genocides.

  14. British concentration camps in South Africa around 1900. And the reason why they didnt gas them is, that the Brits simply did not have the technology yet. Even AFTER Auschwitz the Brits still run concentration camps in Africa, like in Kenya (1952-1960).

The Russians want the country - with or without Ukrainians, they don't care. I don't say that, the Russians say that.

The Ukrainians were not put into concentration camps, on the contrary: Ukrainians served as guards in concentration camps. The most recent scandal was only a few years ago. And maybe you should look up who carried out the Katyn massacre in Poland. Even it has to be said that the Poles had previously slaughtered in Ukraine. Yes, our European history is diverse and no one is better than the other. By the way, did you know that France was THE aggressor in Europe for around 300 years?

  22. Ich wusste als Master in Geschichte noch gar nicht, dass wir am 29. Januar an irgendwas erinnern. Muss wohl eine Linksradikalenveranstaltung mit innenpolitischem Hintergrund unter Missbrauch und Instrumentalisierung der Geschichte als Politikum sein.
