First of all, Ukraine is not part of the EU and hopefully it will stay that way. The ones who were always naive about Russia were the West (UK & France) who allied with Russia twice against Germany. Secondly, "guilt" is never really meant seriously (German diplomats have been surprisingly open for several years), but primarily a marketing tool that has helped sell German products worldwide for decades. And the alleged German "friendship" with the West was never meant seriously either, as German diplomats have been communicating amazingly openly for some years now. Russia is not to be trusted, but neither is the West. There are always two or more to war (WWI & WWII) and the West (but also Germany) was just as aggressive and prey-seeking 80-120 years ago as Russia is still today. I would like to point out that I have studied history and that my statements are based more on scientific analyses, which are mostly diametrically opposed to popular opinion.

@ameyapotdar461 Completely wrong analysis. The Russians stopped delivering gas BEFORE (!) the destruction of Nordstream and broke the contracts. Not even the Soviet Union did that and not even during the oil crisis. Gas would never have flowed again anyway and the pipeline would have been dismantled. The currency is not gas, but trust - and the Russians have gambled that away. By the way, a new pipeline would only cost a few billion - a country like germany would only laugh at that.
