Sadly, as you commented, Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) has been in decline for some time now and mobile phone and Internet communications are seemingly making the hobby even less relevant .... having said that, with modern digital kit and modes, there's lots of exciting new stuff that would hopefully be of interest to a younger group of potential new 'Hams'. Contrary to belief, 'old fashioned' type modes, like Morse (CW) and RTTY are still widely used across the HF bands with a lot of the new, digital modes being very popular of course too (have a listen on the bottom end of bands like 80 and 40 meters to hear CW/RTTY/PSK etc. type contacts going on all the time). I still get a big kick out of making contact with someone, using QRP ( 3 watts or less ) on the HF bands using CW, over sometimes long distances. The great thing about the hobby, I've always felt, is there are so many facets to it, that there'll always be something for everyone? Thanks for the video. Cheers, 73 :-)
