  1. Thanks for the tests. Both radios sound great.... I found it hard to hear much of a difference between the two. They both sounded really good in the tests. The new Baofeng looks like it's going to be a winner, plus it's dual band as well. Cheers 73

  2. Just a word of caution. I ordered mine from Amazon. I paid the amount that the seller was asking, but the package is now being held by DHL (in the UK) because the seller did not make arrangements to pay the import duty and DHL say that they are forced, by the UK Government, to collect import duty on such items. DHL are saying that I would need to pay the import duty, if they are to release and deliver the item. I am of course in dispute with Amazon over this as the seller did not indicate any other charges or import duty and I maintain that I am not responsible to pay this extra charge for import duty.

  3. Hi. Just some further info..... I did indeed order/pay for the item from the Amazon UK site and the total price as quoted by the seller (CELectus UK Shop) was £74.99, postage and delivery free. The problem is that now, DHL, the delivery company are saying that the seller, CELectus UK Shop have not made arrangements to pay the import duty on the item and before DHL can release it and deliver the item, that I will have to pay £16 import duty! Of course I dispute this and have invoked Amazon's complaints, A-Z service. Amazon are saying that I do not need to worry, that they will sort it out, but just today, I've had another email from the seller saying that they have paid the duty, but I've had a telephone call from DHL to say that the item is on hold and will not be released until the £16 import duty fee is paid, by me! Again, I would just suggest that anyone wishing to place an order for the radio, is careful that they don't end up being saddled with an import duty fee, on top of any other monies that they have paid, like I have. I'm hoping of course that Amazon will be true to their word and sort this out for me, but at this moment in time, I'm not very confident! Cheers.... thanks for the good wishes ;-)

  4. That's very true and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that ultimately, with Amazon's clout, they can get the item delivered to me, without me having to pay this extra cost.

  5. UPDATE: DHL the delivery company has just dropped off the radio. Looks like all the calls and emails to Amazon have paid off. Just got the radio on charge and then will have to try and get my head around the software and program up a Code Plug..... think I'd better make myself a strong cup of coffee! :-)
