@winbin6418 you’re confusing capitalism with corpitism, and more government involvement is just going to going to increase the bureaucratic mess we have now. What we need is more capitalism, not less.

First past the post (plurality as she puts it) voting is what has helped stabilize the US. It forces the two major major parties to either be moderate right or left. Other systems encourages parties to become more narrowly focused and radical.

The US wouldn’t have lasted 1/4 of a millennium if our system didn’t work. Also, our government is structured very differently

@shweenerdog that’s as long as most empires. Rome was exceptionally long live; depending on if you include Byzantium, Rome lasted over 1,000 years.

@landuit8577 Republican forms of government aren’t about giving people what they want. It’s about coming to a compromise everyone can live with. A bunch of small extremely partisan parties find doing that much harder
