A separate R&D site is a bad idea. Part of Tesla’s formula is they have R&D next to production.

For countries like the US and Australia with large areas and low population density, it is a stupid policy. Also, let the best products displace the others without government interference because Australia is a free country where people should be able to make decisions based on what is best for them, not what the government wants.

8 countries that most of whom get their electricity from hydro and aren’t industrialized.

You’re just straight up ignorant if you think Biden is the lesser of any evil. He’s admitted to corruption in a room full on people on camera, and he’s bought off by China and Russia. While in office, he’s ordered the murder of a family as the US was running away from Afghanistan and enacted numerous illegal, dictatorial policies.
7
It’s probably a bit more aerodynamic now. A blunt front with a long tail is the most aerodynamic shape
6
Many mountains in the Western US are made out of rare and valuable metals

Dude, you have to stop taking those numbers from solar and wind at face value. The capacity factor of wind is about 30%, so take what ever number and cut it into 1/3. That’s going to be an average so sometimes it will max out and sometimes it won’t make any, while wildly varying in between. They need natural gas back up to deal with that kind of crazy fluctuations, which beats the whole point. Nuclear on the other hand has a 90% capacity factor. They don’t need backup. Fundamentally, nuclear is the only scalable solution to not using fossil fuels because it’s the only one that works.
5
That’s bullshit. Wind and solar are the most maintenance heavy energy sources we have. Several years back here in the US people were talking about how great it was that solar employs more people than coal does at a time when renewables were 3% of electricity and coal 20%
5
Biden has been the on the wrong side of every issue for the last 50 years. He’s only stayed in office because of corruption.
5
They hit 960,000 last year, so once the new factories are up to speed, I can easily see 2 million a year.
4
Let’s go Brandon! Alway the dumbest move from Brandon.
4
Everywhere that has tried renewables has only gotten expensive, unreliable electricity. Denmark just released a report they’re going to having brown outs next decade because of the renewables they built can’t support their needs
4
@laleau92 no, they won’t. There’s simply not enough batteries to do that, and they cost way too much.
4
@hanswitvliet8188 because Canada is colder than Norway.
3
@beautifulgirl219 lead pipes are just fine. Just don’t do what Flint did, cheaping out on water processing so the protective coating inside the pipes is dissolved
3
@collierphone304 the “waste” is fuel for fast reactors. Private insurance is prevented from insuring nuclear because of government regulations. Read Roadmap to Nowhere. Is breals down the costs of a nuclear and renewable grid. The renewable one is 3.5 times more expensive
3
No, it’s not. It’s entrenching natural gas because that’s the only thing with a fast enough response time to make up for the fluctuations
3
@gridjac we’ve had the technology to burn the spent fuel for decades with fast reactors.
3
No, it’s insane. The UK is looking into it, and they estimate it will cost them $15 trillion for 1 gigaWatt of electricity. It breaks every rule of good engineering.
3
@glennjgroves most of that solar and wind is natural gas getting relabeled as solar and wind because it’s the backup for them.
3
Biden doesn’t care about the country. He cares about the money he gets from Unions.
2
No, they aren’t
2
Elon has come up with efficient, sustainable solutions to problems, instead of throwing money into a solution that doesn’t work, and that’s a bad thing?
2
That’s not how it works at all. The output is constantly changing and different regions have amounts of sun and wind
2
@Uygsoerk only with batteries or natural gas backup, which defeats the point
2
Insane is right. All of his predictions are based on bad assumptions
2
It’s just an increased registration charge to offset the the loss of gas tax for roads.
2
It produces 1/10 the toxic waste of solar.
2
@elephantintheroom5678 You add up the waste from mining and manufacturing solar panels and compare it to the amount created by nuclear. Also, solar produces waste that lasts a trillion years. The lead and cadmium from solar never go away
2
@elephantintheroom5678 You asked how it’s done; I told you, but now you rejecting it.
2
@elephantintheroom5678 You haven’t made an argument based on facts
2
@elephantintheroom5678 Prove you’re right; you can’t
2
@elephantintheroom5678 You can’t even do basic math. Hundreds of thousands is orders of magnitude smaller than the millions you were claiming, but are perfectly inline with what I said because it takes 10 half-lifes for a isotope to be completely decayed. 10,000*10=100,000
2
China is going to be lucky if they’re not in the middle of a civil conflict by the end of the year
2
What about the costs of storing lead and cadmium waste from renewables for the next trillion years?
2
You dislike him because you’re an NPC who’s been told what to think.
2
That’s just another layer of bureaucratic mess that would only slow Tesla down.
2
@TheBooban that makes no sense.
2
30X isn’t 30 times. It’s 3-0-X; x as in blank because they’re not sharing what 300 series of steel they’re using.
2
That’s being generous to wind. Nuclear plants can run for 80 years and wind turbines last 20 years.
2
That’s why we need nuclear
2
The total area needed for mining and everything for nuclear is smaller than solar
2
Tesla makes 60-70% of EV sells in North America.
2
Well, Tesla are using many of the same strategies Ford when making the Model T.
2
The government which governs best is the one which governs the least
2
See you acting like Republicans are evil and just want to burn fossil fuels. They don’t. They want cheap, reliable, and preferably domestically produced energy. They’re also happy to buy a high quality product.
2
You’re confusing Elon for Biden.
2
Tesla have the best leadership in the industry.
2
Basing your energy off ofthe weather has always and will always be stupid, no matter how many little fixes people come up with.
2
It’s not the votes. It’s the money, legitimate and otherwise, from the Unions.
