  16. I love the argument that the companies are happy to repair devices for you. What if if I don’t want them to repair it for me? Maybe I want I want to repair my stuff myself, and there are any number of of other reasons why I might not want to be forced to go to the manufacturer for repairs.

  36.  @LRM12o8  It’s not random people. It’s everyone using FSD, which is a willful act. Moreover, FSD is safer than most drivers, and update 10 and beyond will be even safer. People who pay for FSD are sending data back and get updates to improve the software in the car. That sounds like a fair exchange. Also, it’s better than all of the driving systems in other cars that you have to pay for.

  40. Tesla aren’t adding lidar. Some people saw Teslas with lidar attached for engineers to benchmark the accuracy of the vision system. Super Cruise is worse, and a worse system making people pay more attention doesn’t make it safer. And let’s not forget that FSD blows autopilot and all the driver assist systems out sf the water.

  41.  @rars0n  Tesla weren’t testing lidar. They were testing the cameras with the lidar as the tap measure. Super cruise relies on pre-mapped roads, and it’s not being offered anymore.
