That’s because the major religions in the West are over grown cults, while Shinto is what used to be called a pagan religion.

cathy, I wouldn’t call the Aztec religion, the Hindu practice of burning a widow alive on her husband’s funeral pier, the Dionysian cult, etc. chill.

The problem between Christianity and Islam is they’re both doomsday cults dedicated to the same god. Both derive their “moral” authority from being the one true way of worshiping their god. Polytheistic religions don’t make that claim because they have many gods, so it’s easy to simply accept more gods.

Kleco102, that’s great information, but besides the point I was making.

It’s the difference between cult religions and non-cult religions.

The problem with the toaster taking so long cooking the eggs is that you like your eggs way over cooked. The first time you pulled the eggs out they were actually cooked pretty well.
2
Japan washes their eggs as part of the processing and grading like the US.

Swapping batteries is a bad model. All those extra batteries are expensive and would be better used in more scooters. Also, with the equivalent of a level 2 charger for electric cars you could easily charge an e-scooter in just a couple of minutes

You should do a collab with Not Just Bikes on the walkable city features in Tokyo. You’re also both Canadian.

It’s constantly flowing water from a clean source (probably municipal or spring water), and the only thing that goes in the water is the ladle.

Canada is still the second largest country on Earth, so he makes his point.

Two degrees of in-law. It’s interesting how you’re starting to put that personal network to use.

Limits to Growth is wrong from its fundamental assumptions. It’s main assumption is that humans are only capable of consuming and not producing. The suffering in the future will be from a lack of people.

Being dry is a problem of being frozen, not premade.

It’s like a cross between Idaho and Wisconsin.

You need to stop fingering the blades of knives. Proper technique is to pinch the knife on or near the blade.
1
There’s a lot of kami which in the West would be called everything from elves or fairies to demons or ogres.
1
No, you twit. Kami like the inugami, literally dog kami, by no conceptualization are gods. Inugami a spirits that are subordinate to humans and created by humans.

@dota2tournamentss the last 20% of charging an EV takes longer than the first 80% because the crystal structure of the battery gets clogged with ions, not because charging a small battery is harder than charging a large one. Tesla dropped the idea nearly a decade ago and is now building their cars with structural battery packs.
1
@thomasreese2816 why can’t smaller batteries charge just as fast? It makes sense isn’t an explanation. The number of idle batteries is probably close to 20%. Sure, for an individual user its probably the best option. However, it’s not great from a larger perspective for the company
1
@dota2tournamentss there are a lot more reasons why it was dropped than difficulty. It adds weight, complexity, and cost, all of which are applicable to scooters too.
1
@dota2tournamentss Being suboptimal and being a bad user experience are different things. Just because the competition has a worse strategy doesn’t make Gogoro’s the optimal one. 20% more is a pretty big difference, and if we take Tesla as an example, e-scooters should be 20% cheaper than the gas ones
1
@dota2tournamentss when it limits how many scooters the company can build and profits, they’ll care. 20% is huge, particularly in lower end markets, like Vietnam where Gogoro has been trying to enter, but they’re too expensive. Did you not watch the video? Relying on politics to be cheaper isn’t a good long term strategy.
1
No, the rituals are just the ways not to be rude to the kami.

Hokkaido has only been part of Japan for about 150 years. That’s a pretty short time by Japanese standards.

A combination of animism and ancestor worship.
