It sounds like he has a total misunderstanding of what Boondocking etiquette is all about. It also sounds like it was intentional on his part to make it all about him. He probably has issues that are much deeper than anything anybody could’ve done for him at that camp. You and the other people at your camp handled it very diplomatically. The way that you said you would like to have handled it would be exactly what my thinking would be as well.
