If the Libyan experience is anything to go by, it will not only mean Syrian refugees but also that, as a result of a break-down in law and order, local warlords will be able to run a very profitable conduit into Europe for refugees from elsewhere.

@tyraelpl Oh, I don't know. All sorts of butchers get quoted and often: From some pretty bloody Old Testament characters through Roman Emperors, Oliver Cromwell, Napoleon, Churchill, Stalin and Mao. Seems a bit unfair to single out poor old Genghiz just because he was an evil, murderous bandit with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

@peterjones596 I think most quotes are made.up. You can quote me on that.

Whoever said it, it's sage advice.

@tyraelpl It's not hard to find anyone better than the people I suggested. Churchill was responsible for millions dying in the Bengal famine. Stalin and Mao murdered millions. In any case, it's pretty unlikely that Genghiz said it but it still makes good sense. You could apply it to the US invasion of Iraq, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Syria's invasion of Lebanon, and many more.

@Alexander21025 Libya's chimeric "stability" collapsed this year. Google it and see what the Atlantic Council says. It's a basket case. Syria will be the same. That will suit the US and Israel.

@disgraced-empire What's it got to do with the Syrian population? These are foreign backed insurgents backed by Turkey, the US and Israel. The last of these is going to do everything it can to prevent any sort of stability emerging.
