  1. Turkey wouldn't need to invade Israel. They would only need to side with Lebanon IN Lebanon. This would mean it would be attacking Israeli forces outside its own borders from bases within a NATO country. Israel would be faced with a choice between attacking those bases and therefore attacking a NATO member ( leaving NATO countries obliged to respond) or withdrawing to within its own borders.
