If true, the ensuing replacement process will be a mirror image of the Tories' farcical leadership contest. Like Johnson, Starmer has got rid of talent and ability in favour of loyalty to him and the party line. It will be a lineup of mediocrities and yes-men. The competition will be an anti-circus with the public, especially the young, being even more turned off by the whole idea of politics. The real loser is the democratic process.
