Spot on, Damian. It's a very complex churn here. While Labour are certainly gaining from the Tories as the unionist party of choice, they are probably losing to the Greens as they lurch rightwards. In the meantime, of course, the SNP are getting a negative effect from all the police investigations (which have so far turned up precisely nothing) and are also getting knocked by Alba. But one thing Scottish polls have in common with English polls is that they fail to pick up the apathy effect of potential Labour voters thinking: "They're not promising anything worth having so I'm not bothering". It will be interesting to see how that plays out in Rutherglen. Because, if they can't win that with a significant majority in a by-election they're not going get much, if anything, in the general election.
