@eddiebear34 Yes. Murray and Peterson are two examples of what reactionaries would like an intellectual to be. They can only do it in Right wing echo chambers like this where their lies and misrepresentations aren't challenged, though. Peterson tried debating Zizek and got his arse kicked and he runs scared of debating Richard Wolff. Murray is the same. Just makes up strawman opponents. Anyone can do that.

@randalldraco3822 Yes. That was the view of your predecessors in 1930s Germany. You people have contempt for humanity because you have none.
5
@ruggedtechie5867 Spot on. Of course he's not an intellectual. He just went to posh schools which came him the tools and confidence to talk bollocks confidently and articulately. In short, he is what idiots would like intellectuals to be. He says what idiots want to hear but he makes it sound authorative and intelligent because he has a posh accent and good grammar. As eyewitness reports of the Hamas attack emerge, it's becoming less certain that they were responsible for the deaths of the civilians - or at least not all of them. One surviving kibbutz member said that the IDF fired tank artillery shells into houses containing both hostages and Hamas and she saw several civilians shot down by IDF crossfire. If Hamas had committed the atrocities claimed by Israel the whole scene would have been crawling with UN war crimes investigators at Israel's invitation. The fact that Israel provided no evidence for its claims tells you all you need to know.

@eddiebear34 I meant any peer to peer debates - not interviews with journalists! Do you even know the difference?
4
@0000vicky0000 Your source for that little gem?
4
@eddiebear34 What opposition? Name them!
3
@broomfs That's easy: His accusations that ceasefire campaigners support Hamas. See above.
3
@freehorizons9491 He speaks for all Fascists. My Dad lost an eye fighting in France when people like him tried to establish an ethnically pure Europe in 1939. I doubt very much that God will "bless" him or his Nazi predecessors.
3
@guymor910 You took their country, but they started the war?
3
@guymor910 Just like the Third Reich would have done had it not been stopped?

"It was land that was taken during the Islamic conquests and forcefully evicted or killed (Assyrians are an example) the indigenous residents of whichever land said conquests occupied" In the time of Islamic conquests, the value of land was dependent on there being people to work it. It would have been absurd to conquer a territory and then drive out or kill its population. That would be like stealing a car and then smashing up its engine. Far from killing Chistians and Jews, the Islamic conquerors absorbed them and protected them as "people of the book". Over time, many converted to Islam but many communities remained such as the Assyrian Christians in Mesopotamia, the Egyptian Copts or the Armenians - though they got massacred when Turkey became a secular country.
3
@angelomaldini3316 Yeah! Cos' Canadian politicians are too busy giving standing ovations to Waffen SS veterans in their Parliament to worry about stuff like that.
3
@eddiebear34 Any of them.
2
@infrared2084 Yes. We call them "working class Tories".
2
@broomfs I've said nothing remotely antisemitic, Nazi.
2
Are there people out there who actually believe this pish. Of course Zionism is genocidal. Israel is a colony of foreigners which has taken over a land in which other people were already living and it has given them the choice of leaving, remaining as second-class citizens in a state which doesn't recognise their right to be there or being masacred. That's genocide. Period. But this Fascist is right about one thing. The two-state solution is delusional. Israel could have negotiated a fair deal from a position of strength until quite recently but that ship has sailed now. The outcome can only be one thing now: a democratic unitary state under which the rights of all are guaranteed by the international community.
2
@JeremyChristos Agreed. And, unlike the lurid lies about October 2023, they actually HAPPENED!
2
@davidparker9676 Which "indigenous British culture"? There are hundreds of them.
2
76% of the UK population support a ceasefire. Are you sure you understand the concept of "vast majority". But then you think this twit is intellectual so probably not..
1
@InfiniteDesign91 Um, no. The "vast majority" doesn't. The Right wins because of the distortions of First Past The Post and because of mass abstention and systematic gerrymandering, discouragement and disenfranchisement. Boris Johnson's "landslide" in 2019 came from less than 30% of the registered electorate and 26% of those eligible . It has certainly never been elected by a "vast majority"! That is why the Tories are terrified of proportional representation and automatic registration. Democracy would wipe them out.
1
@eddiebear34 The "leftist" channel 4 interview? Cathy Newman is a "leftist"? Wow! you must be to the right of Attila the Hun if you think that. Do you understand the difference between a peer to peer debate and an interview with a wet liberal journalist? Stupid question. Of course these two charlatans will prosper when their adoring fans are so utterly clueless!
1
@eddiebear34 Of course it won't make any difference to you. You don't even know what a peer to peer debate is! Here's an example for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsHJ3LvUWTs . Zizek absolutely destroys a lack lustre prima donna who thinks he can use the kind of garbage he routinely uses on his usual badly educated audiences. Since then, Peterson has stuck to know-nothing journalists who will be too ill informed to challenge his dishonest claims. In the mean time, Richard Wolff has told him to name the time and place. Peterson's too feart to debate a real intellectual. By all means keep sending me nonsense about TV chats shows. It just emphasises the fact that you have nothing of any substance.
1
@broomfs I see. So you have a citation to show what this "attack" involved and when and where it was? In my experience, Zionists routinely use highly creative interpretations of the word "attack". Hint: a verbal challenge is not an attack. From the River To The Sea is NOT a Hamas chant and is NOT antisemitic. It originated with the PLO in the 1960s and was (and is ) a call for a democratic ONE state solution in which Jews, Christians and Muslims all have equal status. Again, using that same highly creative use of language, this is Antisemitic to Zionists.

I have to admire him for keeping a straight face as he lies through his teeth. Israel has admitted that the Hannibal Directive was used to murder potential "hostages" - accounts for most of the deaths, The special prosecutor appointed by Israel has found NO evidence of any rapes at all and the Rabbi who claimed that there were murdered babies has admitted that he lied. What are you left with? A successful military option to take what were mostly military captives to trade for prisoners illegally held by the Israels. It was a perfectly legal operation under the right to resist which all occupied peoples have.
1
@keepussafeUSA Pure propaganda. Their ancestors were Eastern Europeans. They had no connection to Palestine. The crap about Palestinians coming from elsewhere has been peddled since 1948. Like all Zionist claims, past and present, it is made up. But it doesn't matter. Israel has arrived at the point that all colonies arrive at just before they disappear into history's dustbin. The British in India, the French in Algeria, the Dutch in Indonesia, and of course, Israel's South African friends all adopted the three part strategy of assassinating leaders, attempting to terrorise populations into abandoning resistance movements and bullying their neighbours. It's a strategy that always was and always will be followed by defeat.

@salaciousone Douglas Adams is a posh boy who had to be a journalist because he's too thick to be a banker. I have no idea what you mean by "number twos" but if I've offended Murray's Nazi fan club, I'm indeed proud. I'm a working class boy who has worked for everything he has. Next Sunday I'll be proud to be remembering my Dad who lost an eye fighting against people like Murray who wanted to keep Europe ethnically pure. Now fuck off back to your sieg heiling, Nazi.
1
@salaciousone You're the one talking to yourself, Nazi. The vast majority of the British people are disgusted with you.
1
@@rachelforshee6014 That's amazing invention, Nazi. I have no idea what a "social media feed" is. Your need to demonise those who expose your wickedness is so transparent that I'd laugh if it wasn't so offensive.
1
@@rachelforshee6014 If someone takes someone else's land by force then proceeds to systematically murder them while justifying their crimes by referring to a mythical heritage, then they are doing EXACTLY what the Nazis did. The Nazis made claim to Eastern Europe on the grounds that it once been Germanic and had been over-run by outsiders. They said it was their historical home and birthright. Yes. Those who know no history ARE condemned to repeat it.
1
Just tell the British what they want to hear. Way to get yourself invited onto all the right (or rather, Right) talk shows.
1
The "atrocities can't even be proved. In fact, they have been completely debunked. Yoav Gallant just admitted that the Hannibal Directive was used - which explains most of the deaths. The Rabbi who claimed that he saw mutilated babies admits that he lied and the special prosecutor appointed by Israel has admitted that there is no credible evidence for ONE single sexual assault, let alone the series of mass rapes claimed. It was all lies. The attack was to capture POWs to trade for the hostages Israel holds. It was a military operation which is perfectly legal under the legal right to resist that all occupied people have.
1
@steve10 You're right down the Islamophobe rabbit hole, aren't you? It was the Christian countries that burnt people to death for being heretics. Have you never heard of the Inquisition? The Russian and Polish Pogroms? That's why there were such large Jewish communities in places like Salonika and Tehran. They fled to Muslim countries to escape persecution by Christians. I suggest you consult a properly researched history rather than relying on the sort of nonsense you get on You Tube.
1
"were they had lived in often deep oppression for a thousand years, " And why had they fled to such countries? And why did they stay there for a "thousand" years if they were living in "deep oppression"? Because remaining in Christian countries would have got them burned at the stake, perhaps? Because they lived relatively privileged lives as the educated class in such countries? And it's worth bearing in mind that "deep oppression" usually meant not being burned at the stake as it did under the Inquisition in Christian countries. It's so easy for extreme right ideologues like Kisin to fool people when they're unable to think through what they're actually saying themselves!

@videojgl Dhimmi was a tax paid to avoid military service. Jews were free not to pay it and be conscripted. Many did that. And yes, they were often refugees from Christian countries where they were mortally persecuted. Thesalonika had a massive Jewish population composed almost entirely of Jews who had escaped the inquisition in the Hapsburg empire. The Ottomans made them welcome because they had useful skills and were generally good for the economy. Equally many of the Jews of North Africa came from persecutions in Spain and France. There were native Jews who were the descendants of those who had been converted over the years too. Jews and Christians in Muslim countries tended to be the better educated and occupied respected professions. This continued right into the twentieth century. And even beyond the so-called "Arab Nakba" there were significant Jewish populations in Iran and most North African countries. And yes, when there were hard times, both Christians and Jews were scapegoated to take the heat of the rulers. But these were nothing compared to the pogroms of the Christians. Your prejudice clouds you to the obvious historical fact that it was in Christian countries that Jews were primarily persecuted. England expelled its Jews after murderous pogroms in the 12th century. France had a wave of pogroms in the 14th century when Jews were blamed for the Black Death. Perhaps you've never heard of The Inquisition in Spain, the Low Countries and Central Europe? The Russians held periodic pogroms, culminating in the 19th and early 20th century when much of its Jewish population was expelled into Eastern Europe. And of course, the ultimate Christian pogrom was the Holocaust when between 5 and 8 million Jews were massacred in Christian countries - often with the open co-operation of priests and local Christian populations. Look up Babi Yar, for example. I'm an atheist. But it's clear to me that all religions (including Judaism) have pretty nasty skeletons in their closets. But Muslims are no more guilty of oppressing others than anyone else is. Certainly not more so than Christians.
