  1. It seemed to me that the Maccabi fans' intention was to provoke a pogrom against the non-white population of Amsterdam. I think that they expected Dutch Fascists to come out on the streets in support of them because the Netherlands has recently elected the Far Right at several layers of government. That would have been a very ugly scenario indeed but it failed to materialise and they consequently found themselves vastly outnumbered. That's when they switched to plan B: claiming victimhood.
