  1. The US Democrats just achieved the impossible feat of getting Donald Trump re-elected. They did it by promoting the interests of big business and bankers over those of the working class and alienating progressives a large ethnic/religious bloc by supporting a genocide in Palestine. The result was large groups staying at home and some natural supporters actually voting for Trump. The Labour Party seems desperate to emulate them by doing exactly the same things. and I think the bookmakers will soon be giving good odds on a Tory/Reform coalition. The sad thing is that a big chunk of the current Parliamentary Labour Party would prefer that to a genuinely progressive Labour government.
