  1. It's selective justice. Did Indonesian assets get seized when it invaded East Timor? Have US assets been seized to pay for the damage it wrought in Indochina through the 1960s and 1970s? What about the damage done by the US's dirty wars in Latin America where local dictators were supported and protected while they siphoned their own countries' wealth into Swiss bank accounts? The big one mentioned by several people here is Iraq. That was an entirely unprovoked and predatory attack which killed hundreds of thousands of people and, together with the equally illegal sanctions regime which preceded it, destroyed an entire economy. The list of equivalents could fill an entire screen. I'm all for restorative justice but only if it's universally applied.
