  1. What nonsense! The part once played by the democratically accountable state has been replaced by increments since the late 1970s. The railways, water, telecoms, buses, gas, electricity etc are all run by unaccountable corporations now. What's more, within state institutions (like the NHS) , we have out-sourcing which increases the costs and waters down the service.
