Yes. So far as there is any coherent belief amongst these grifters, it is that government as we know it should be destroyed and power should be in the hands of the super-rich. For them, the state should only be there to maintain law and order and allow the rich to keep their loot. It's the classic liberty versus democracy struggle. I doubt if you'll ever find that in one of their manifestos, though.

It was the favoured policy of Ben Bernanke, who is a Neoliberal clown. Richard is not arguing for the use of QE. There are much better and more equitable ways of creating money. But he is right to say that it saved the day in 2008. As for the number of people who knew about it, how many people in the general population do you suppose are even aware of the existence of the Chicago and Austrian cults, sorry, "Schools", let alone the incoherent nonsense they spew?

@joepaluka9031 "The correct way to control govt power is to force govts to use taxation for everything they spend. " Balancing the books, you mean? Yes. Cos' that's always worked, hasn't it?

@joepaluka9031 you inhabit a parallel universe. We haven't seen anything remotely Keynesian since the 1970s! Thatcherism has held sway even under Labour governments - including this one. It was the balanced budget dogma which led to the Great Depression and it looks like it's about todo the same now.

@joepaluka9031 Neither Rothbard nor Von Mises have ever destroyed anything - except economies, of course. The Mont Pelerin insurgency is dead, pal. It will still limp on in the minds of right-wing academics because universities will keep getting funded by the rich people that benefit from it. But it has lost every argument it ever made.
