@LowPlainsDrifter60 We know what it means: It's the replacement for "political correctness gone mad" which eventually became as comedic as it could get as Spitting Image gave it at least one skit on every show. There's always been a personal insult to dish out when you've no arguments. Is anyone here old enough to have been called a "trendy lefty" or a "bleeding heart liberal? No doubt, the Right Wing echo chamber will replace the equally vacuous and meaningless "woke" in due course.

I remember back in 2008, many commentators were saying that Neoliberalism had lost the argument. They seemed to be blissfully unaware that it had never won any arguments. It came to dominate because rich people like the Kochs, Mellons, etc financed university economics departments that taught it. They continued to finance it, even when its weak and incoherent dogma was utterly and completely destroyed by reality and it has limped on regardless. I wonder if 2024 will have turned out to have been the year in which it had its final throes in the UK as both Tories and Labour stubbornly hung on to its ridiculous dictates with the inevitable results becoming obvious to even the most stubbornly economicly illiterate amongst us.
