He had made his company more profitable by literally condemning people to death. And he's shocked by the fact that someone has decided that there should be consequences for his callousness? The USA and the UK are actually grammatic constructions: The states which are united; the kingdom which is united. There are others: The United Arab Emirates, the Republic of South Africa. Not the same thing at all.

On the one hand she will make any sane person give his or her vote to anyone who could credibly keep her out of power.
