  2.  @thatblueberryguy  "the Ukraine" is the Tsarist imperialist name for Ukraine as a region of Russia. It effectively denies it's existence as a country.

  3.  @the_royal_drop_short.  Nope. The definite article is used by Russian imperialists as a way of referring to it as a region of Russia and denying its existence as a nation. The USA and the UK are actually grammatic constructions: The states which are united; the kingdom which is united. There are others: The United Arab Emirates, the Republic of South Africa. Not the same thing at all.
