  5. This description has reduced me to tears. Were I Palestinian and able-bodied I think my reaction would be less passive. Well done, James. This is being ignored by most of the mainstream media. Yesterday, Sky News treated us to a heartwarming tribute to 4 IDF sergeants who got killed by Hezbollah action. For each, we were given a name, a town of origin and happy smiling photographs. The newsreader tailed off slowly and emotionally saying that they were all 19. The children murdered in the bombed hospital were given no such humanisation. We weren't given their names, their origin or their ages. I feel shame and anger for what is happening - and I should. Thank you for keeping us honestly informed.

  6. It is the inevitable consequence of the three mainstream parties becoming progressively more corrupt and useless. Remember Blair's contemptuous "Uh! Where are they going to go?" when he was asked if he was worried about working-class people being disenchanted with Labour? Shortly after that, we saw Nick Griffin getting elected to the European Parliament. And now, as Rachel Reeves sounds more and more like Liz Truss every time she speaks, the new far-right (and that's exactly what they are) are actually overtaking Labour in Westminster polls. The Labour Right will be 100% to blame if we end up with a far-right Tory/Reform coalition. But then, I suspect that they would actually prefer that to a genuinely Social Democratic Labour government led by someone like Jeremy Corbyn.

  10. I hope she's the first of many. I am sure that there are at least a couple of dozen Labour MPs who are decent enough to be appalled by this continuity Tory government. Hopefully, they will follow Duffield's example and grow a backbone.
