  1. It's really scary. The sinister backdrop to this is one that was shared by many Nazis (including Adolf Eichman) : Israel as a dumping ground for Jews. It's a narrative which was also promoted by early Zionists (eg Chaim Weizman) who explicitly suggested that Jews in Christian countries were "uninvited guests who had out-stayed their welcome. The underlying suggestion is that Antisemitism is a perfectly reasonable reaction to this and the solution is not to fight it but instead to accept it and realise that the only logical solution is emigration to Israel. Zionists in interwar Germany were openly supportive of the Nazis. It is not a coincidence that the leading Zionists in the US are supportive of Trump. It is time to be very scared and to be very, very active in making sure that he (or anyone else they promote) does not get into power again.
