  1. RFK's strength is that he's not Vance. His weakness is the fact that he's RFK. Choosing a sleazy mediocrity with a penchant for putting his foot in his own mouth in order to get a big donation from his patron (Peter Thiel) was not a good look. But replacing that mediocrity with an in-your-face nut-job who drives around with dead bears in the trunk of his car is even worse.
