4:48 The thing is they didn't land to cities already built and settled. It's not just the time between the cities... It's more so settling in a place that has no water and is basically a dry desolate desert. Yes parts of WA are beautiful but parts of it are also inhospitable.

@candycanessongs Yeah exactly fresh water is a very important thing when settling. People acting like we are talking about tourist destinations, but it's more about whats hospitable for settlers.

I mean even you have to admit most of WA is nhospitable. It makes sense as to why they would think the rest is the same.

The inland sea was gone 100s of years before the Dutch or British discovered Australia. WA was alot more inhospitable than the east coast. We don't have the majority of our population on the east coast just for giggles and laughs.

@alyciasmith1964 I thought you were talking about water in general my bad wasn't really clear tbh And yeah it's not impossible for you because the cities and desalination plants have already been built with running water on tap. I'm just saying when it was settled it was definitely worse than the east coast in terms of liveability

The thing is the guy was talking about WA at the time the Dutch arrived. Which he was right to say it sucked. Ian was thinking about WA in 2022 with fully built cities and Desalination plants. No one is saying WA sucks to visit or live in now, it just sucked as a place to settle at first.

Yes exactly Ian is acting like the guys talking about a fully established Perth lol. When the guy says WA suck he meant for settling a colony which is just a fact.

He's thinking of it in a 2022 mindset tho. The video wasn't saying WA is a terrible place to visit. The point was it was an inhospitable barren place to settle which is just a fact. There is a reason the majority of us live in the east coast.

5:46 I'm sorry but your wrong the reason there is a more people in the east coast is a direct correlation of the west sucking. This isn't a Perth vs Sydney thing this is just a fact of one coast being more barren and dry than the other. Remember we are talking about 100s of years ago not today. The east coast has way more water and liveable land. There is a reason only parts of WA have city's even to this day. 50% of Perths water comes from Desalination plants which should put things into perspective. They didn't have that option 100s of years ago.

@alyciasmith1964 Yeah for sure but I think in this context the guy was saying it was a shit place to settle. Like Las Vegas is a nice place but obviously a terrible place to settle being in the middle of a desert.
